Court says inmate has no right to refuse food

Charles McNabb didn't want to eat.

So he didn't. Not for just a short time, mind you, but for over five months. His fast abruptly ended, however, when his “hosts” — prison officials in Spokane County — decided to force-feed him by a tube through his nose. In the ensuing lawsuit, the main issue was whether the prison's force-feeding policy had violated McNabb's constitutional right to privacy.
