Argosy Cruises

Vanessa Nicholson has been appointed director of marketing of Argosy Cruises, a Seattle-based cruise company. Nicholson's responsibilities include overseeing marketing, advertising, public relations and special events. Before joining Argosy she was marketing manager for Gray Line of Seattle.

Tim Seaton was recently promoted to chief operating officer at theDial, a Seattle-based provider of Web-based interactive audio entertainment. Seaton will oversee theDial's daily operations. He joined the company with 17 years of senior management experience in the technology and the music industry. Before joining theDial in February, he was vice president of sales for AEI Music.

inFOREtech Wireless Technology

inFOREtech Wireless Technology, the Seattle-based developer of the hand-held inFOREmer 2000 Golf Pace-of-Play information system, announced the expansion of its sales team with three regional sales managers who bring a combined sales experience of more than 50 years. Dave Minner, the Southeastern regional sales manager, served most recently as the Eastern U.S. regional manager for a Fortune 250 company. Stacy Bray has managed territories throughout New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Bray will manage the Central region. Tom Christopherson successfully implemented a retail sales program for a specialty chain of 480 stores specializing in progressive consumer products.

Everett Chamber of Commerce

The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce has added two members to its staff. Monica Stewart joins as project manager with the responsibility of managing the Chamber's list of affinity programs. Angie Knight joins the Chamber's sales staff as a new membership consultant.

Phillips Gallery of Fine Art

Phillips Gallery of Fine Art opened at 126 Central Way in Kirkland on June 15. The gallery was established in Carmel, Calif., and is recognized for its collection of original works by prominent international living artists. The gallery in Kirkland will represent over 20 painters and sculptors

Deloitte & Touche, a professional services firm, announced that Timothy Davis has been elected a partner in its enterprise risk services group in the firm's Seattle office. Davis has more than nine years experience serving multinational clients of Deloitte & Touche. Before coming to the Seattle office he served in the company's offices in Johannesburg, Athens, London and Wilton, Conn.

Peterson Russell Cofano

Peterson Russell Cofano, a Bellevue law firm, announced that Eric Carlson has joined the firm as a partner. Carlson concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and commercial finance, startup business planning, venture capital, securities and corporate law. He was previously a partner at Williams, Kastner & Gibbs in Seattle.

Vander Houwen Public Relations

Diana Lanham has joined Vander Houwen, a Bellevue-based public relations company, as its new client services manager. Lanham has more than 15 years of business management experience in the advertising and marketing industry. In addition to client services responsibilities, she will lead operations at the company. Kelly Traw has been promoted to account supervisor after five years with the agency. Traw will oversee accounts and manage new business efforts.

Bazillion

Bazillion, a Seattle-based broadband communications company that owns and operates a global, private broadband IP network, delivering access to advanced communications services, announced the appointment of Jamie Howard as president and CEO. Howard comes to Bazillion from his post as president and CEO of Excite@Home's European broadband venture, @Home Benelux, where he was responsible for the startup and development of Excite@Home's first overseas broadband venture.

Howard will work side-by-side with Vern Fotheringham who will continue in the role of chairman and focus on investor relations and international business development activities.

Seattle-based Pro2Net has launched a family of Web sites delivering resources for professionals in accounting, financial services, human resources, insurance and law. Pro2Net has assembled a team of editors, publishers, educators and freelance writers to provide daily insights, analysis and commentary on issues. This team has created feature stories, case studies, solutions articles, continuing education courses and audio interviews.

Bentall U.S. LLC

Lisa Rowe's busy leasing up of Bentall's various Eastside office projects has landed her a promotion to Bentall vice president. The company said Rowe "has been instrumental in leasing more than 2.5 million of Bentall's 3 million-square-foot office portfolio in Bellevue and Seattle." Rowe received her broker license 13 years ago and has worked for Bentall since 1997. Her next leasing job is The Summit in downtown Bellevue, a two building office complex which Bentall eventually may build out at 520,000 square feet. Construction of the first building is slated to start in September.

RealSaver.com

David Hoff and Kevin Anderson started a residential real estate web site company in Seattle last year called RealSaver.com that plans to launch its Web site on Sept. 1. They describe the site as "a virtual marketplace where neighborhood-based real estate service providers and clients interested in buying or selling a home in those neighborhoods can meet." Real estate agents can pay to become the sole listed representative for a zip code area. Hoff previously worked at Microsoft. Anderson started Cognigen.com, which he described as an online telephone long-distance provider.

L.J. Melody & Co.

Commercial lenders at the Seattle office of L.J. Melody & Co. put together $140 million in financing for a Unico Properties partnership's recent purchase of the U.S. Bancorp Tower in downtown Portland.

Affiliates of the insurance giant Cigna provided the funding through Michal Makar and David Stinebaugh of Melody's Seattle office and Kory Arnston of Melody's Portland office, Melody said.

A partnership of Unico, New York-based Chase Capital Partners and U.S. Bank bought the 1.1 million-square-foot tower from the Minneapolis-based bank's parent company, U.S. Bancorp. The partnership didn't disclose the price it paid.

HMB Commercial Capital Inc.

Cynthia "Sunny" Worsley was hired as assistant vice president in marketing for Mill Creek-based HMB Commercial Capital.
