Seattle-based Seattle's Best Coffee has opened a cafe in the new Terminal 2A in Orlando Airport. SBC's Atlanta-based franchise partner, Coffee Klatch, is heading up the venture. Coffee Klatch has already established three SBC cafes in Atlanta's Hartfield Airport with plans to open two more in the near future. SBC has been focusing efforts in Orlando and Las Vegas. A 15-cafe plan in hotels and casinos over the next five years was recently announced in Las Vegas, with the opening of the first two cafes last month.
Bruce and Donna Howe, directors of the Seattle area office of HouseMaster, a home inspection service, were awarded the Achievement Award for Marketing Excellence at the company's annual conference held recently in Vancouver, B.C.
The Seattle-based law firm Wolfstone, Panchot & Bloch announced that Steven Ross has become of counsel to the firm. Ross will continue his practice in labor and employment law. The firm also announced the addition of Kevin Hull as an associate. Hull's practice emphasizes all aspects of litigation and family law.
The law firm of Perkins Coie announced that Clemens Barnes joined its Seattle office as a partner in the labor and employment law group. Barnes will focus his practice on employment law advice and representation, union-management issues, special government contractor obligations, and employment contract, pay practices and wrongful discharge litigation.

Bader Martin Ross & Smith, a Seattle-based accounting and consulting firm announced 10 new hires and one promotion. The new hires are: Christine Hill, manager; Gary Chen, staff accountant; Mira Freiberg, tax department; Nicole Rowley, staff accountant; Young Chung, staff accountant; Linda Ferrera, staff accountant; Keith Tyacke, senior; Sabine Pradhan, senior; Helen Wright, accounting technician; and, Karianna Heimerman, accounting technician. Ryan Berry was promoted to tax senior. Berry has been with the firm since December 1998.
Absolute Future, a Bellevue-based developer of secure communications systems, announced that it has named Scott Whitmore vice president, sales and marketing for its SafeMessage secure messaging product. Whitmore joined the company in July as a consultant to the sales and marketing team with responsibilities for developing the sales and marketing plan for the SafeMessage product launch. He joined the company full time last month in his current role.
FizzyLab, a Seattle-based developer of automated information delivery solutions for online businesses, announced that Rip Warendorf was appointed senior vice president, business operations. Warendorf, a former executive at Corbis and iVillage, brings to FizzyLab more than 15 years of sales and business development experience in the technology and publishing industries.
Verizon Wireless, a national wireless communications provider, has named D.J. Hulet as vice president of sales operations for the Northwest area. Hulet is responsible for leading the company's integrated sales and distribution efforts across all four regions in the Northwest area. She is a 23-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, most recently serving as customer service general manager for BTCellnet in the United Kingdom.
Lithia Motors of Medford, Ore. announced that it has completed the acquisition of Columbia Center Ford in Tri-Cities. In October of last year Lithia completed the acquisition of a Dodge store, and in May of this year Lithia acquired a Honda store in the same market area. With this most recent acquisition, Lithia now operates 107 franchises in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho and South Dakota.
