Matson Intermodal System named Ellen M. Hedlund as an account executive for the Pacific Northwest. Hedlund was an account executive for Watkins Motor Lines. Matson will work out of the Matson office in Lynnwood and from her home office in Tacoma.
Collin Cakarnis has been promoted to regional accounts manager at Action Sports Media. He will manage sponsorship sales for Washington State University and be based in Spokane.
Corporate Board Member magazine named Lane Powell Spears Lubersky as a top U.S. corporate law firm in the Seattle market. The determination was made by a poll of the magazine's readers which includes directors and general counsel of publicly held companies. Lane Powell Spears Lubersky, founded over 125 years ago, received the same honor from the magazine last year.
Alan L. Wallace has joined Williams Kastner & Gibbs as a member in the firm's Seattle office. Wallace was formerly a principal in the law firm of Caircross & Hempelmann. He will lead the land use practice, with a focus on real estate development, land use and environmental law.
Sweet Tooth Candy Bouquet will hold a grand opening on Saturday, July 13, at its 6969 California Ave. S.W. location in West Seattle. Sweet Tooth, a franchise of Candy Bouquet International, features decorative candy bouquets. Owner Chera Gaviglio was assisted by Community Capital Development's loan program and the Seattle Women's Business Center.
Katsumi Masuda has been named assistant general manager for the Ramada Inn Downtown Seattle. Masuda was operations manager for the MarQueen Hotel. The hotel's operator, Northwest Lodging International (USA) also named Roger H. Clute as vice president of sales. Clute was regional vice president of sales for WestCoast Hotels

MultiCare Health System named Sarah Horsman vice president for human potential. Horsman previously was vice president of human resources with Bridge Medical in California. MultiCare is a not-for-profit health system headquartered in Tacoma that includes Tacoma General Hospital, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and Health Center, Allenmore Hospital and Day Surgery of Tacoma.
Kibble & Prentice added the first outside members to its board of directors and added five new shareholders. Joining the board as new members are Gordon Pratt of Distribution Partners and Bob Seda of Hales & Co. The new shareholders are Jamie Frits, vice president, retirement plan services; Lisa Mushel, vice president and operations manager, employee benefits; Todd McMahon, vice president and operations manager, retirement plan services; Marcy Hall, vice president and manager, personal insurance and small commercial Insurance markets; and, Barb Larimer, vice president, marketing.
Saint Martin's College has partnered with China's Pudong Business College, a part of Shanghai Maritime University, in a new program that will enable Pudong students to learn American business practices at St. Martin's. The first students participating in the program are scheduled to arrive in August. Saint Martin's is currently seeking 10 business-oriented families in the Thurston County area to host the Pudong students from Aug. 22 to Aug. 28. Gary Gibson has been hired as the new general manager of the city of Seattle's cable channel, TVSea. The station was unveiled in May, with plans for new programming, live Web casting and interactive services to help citizens access government information and decision makers. Live video streaming of city council meetings began earlier this month. Gibson was vice president for production at KCTS.
Emurasoft has relocated to a new office in Redmond from its former Bellevue location. Emurasoft was incorporated in 1995 in Tsukuba, Japan, and the Bellevue office opened in July, 2001. Emurasoft is a custom Windows software developer. Services and products include custom software development, localization of software and Web sites, and graphic design.
