As a result of a recently signed agreement to expand the cancer-care partnership of the Northwest Hospital and the Swedish Cancer Institute, the Northwest Tumor Institute will be renamed the Swedish Cancer Institute at Northwest Hospital. Swedish Hospital will continue managing the outpatient radiation-therapy center and provide physician services as it has for the last 15 years. Also, a new Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy system will be purchased for the center. Also in the agreement, Swedish will manage Northwest Hospital’s Gamma Knife Center.
Benchmark Systems of Lynchburg, Virginia has purchased the assets of Seattle-based Benchmark Systems of Washington. Benchmark Systems of Washington has provided computer systems to medical practices and other businesses in the Northwest for the past 25 years. Although they share similar names, the companies were not previously related.
Tectura Corp. has acquired the Seattle branch operations of Born. The acquisition merges Tectura's national services practice with the 15 technology professionals at Born. Both companies are Microsoft partners in Microsoft-based business solutions. Pat Langowski, previously the Born branch manager in Seattle will be director of Microsoft Solutions for the new Tectura Northwest.
Piatti Restaurant named Troy Whalen as manager. He most recently served as manager of the Sand Point Grill. Piatti serves traditional Italian cuisine under the direction of its executive chef, Paul Mark and is located in the University Village shopping center.

Aaron L. Muhs and Takura Taneyl Price are new agents for Country Insurance & Financial Services. Muhs will serve clients in the Portland area from his office in Tualatin, Ore. Price will be based in Vancouver.
Rachel A. LeMieux has joined Moss Adams as a state and local tax senior manager in the firm's state and local tax practice. She will be based in Seattle. LeMieux's previous experience includes work with the Washington State Department of Revenue.
Sam's Steakhouse named Alfredo Ganacias as its new executive chef. Ganacias was previously executive chef at the Edgewater Hotel and corporate chef for Fisherman's Restaurants. Sam's Steakhouse overlooks Lake Union on Eastlake Avenue East.
Clothier & Head has become a member firm of London-based Baker Tilly International. Baker Tilly, whose name was recently changed from Summit International Associates, is a firm of chartered accountants and business advisers helping companies develop management systems in 58 international markets. As a result if this alignment, Clothier & Head is able to offer local businesses international accountancy and business advisory services.
The Pacific Association for Medical Equipment Services named its new board of directors. Board officers are: Allen Clark, Performance Modalities, president; Tony Hudders, North Coast Home Care, president-elect; Jan Wallace, Providence Home Services, secretary/treasurer; and Jack Hopkins, Northwest Medical, past president. Also joining the board as members are: Tom Coogan, Care Medical; Carl Cramer, Farrell's Home Health; Steve Graham, Care Medical; Mary Henningsen, Shield Healthcare; and Ted McWilliams, Apria Healthcare. The association represents home medical equipment and respiratory service providers in Oregon and Washington.
