Child Care Resources

Nina Auerbach received the Washington Home-Based Business Leadership award from the Seattle District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration for her work to create the King County Child Care Careers Program. Auerbach is the founding director and chief executive officer of Child Care Resources, a Seattle-based not-for-profit agency that addresses King County's need for affordable, high quality child care.

Icogen

Icogen Corp., a Seattle-based biotechnology company, is changing its name to Icogenex Corp.

The name change reflects a refocusing and re-branding of the company. "We are now a different company from the one founded in 1995," said Frederick S. Hagen, president and CEO. Icogen is developing anti-inflammatory therapeutics and therapy for Alzheimer's disease.

Northwest Lodging

AFM Hospitality Corp. announced the appointment of Tracy L. Kundey as chief operating officer for its management division companies, Northwest Lodging International (USA) and Northwest Lodging International (Canada). Kundey was a founding partner in Hersha Hospitality Management, the management division of the Hersha Trust hotel REIT. AFM's Management division is being reorganized. Tom Matthews, former president of Northwest Lodging International (Canada), and Ellen Walker- Matthews, former AFM Hospitality Corp. vice president sales and marketing, have returned to their family management business. Peter Smith, former CEO of AFM's Management Division, will pursue other interests. Based in Seattle, Kundey assumes full responsibility for AFM's management division.

Washington Technology Center

The Washington Technology Centeris seeking proposals for its spring funding round. The center leads public and private efforts to enhance Washington's economy. On average, one in four proposals receives funding. Applications are reviewed by an advisory committee representing a cross-section of technology industries. The committee will evaluate the technical merit, commercial potential and economic impact of the proposals. Deadline is April 22 and there is a $250 application fee. Frause Group

The Frause Group, a Seattle-based public relations and marketing firm, has promoted Sara Westerlund from receptionist to account coordinator. Pamala Mijatov replaces Westerlund as receptionist.

La Quinta

The La Quinta Inn Lynnwood will celebrate its reopening at 3 p.m. on March 11 at 4300 Alderwood Mall Blvd. The 101-room hotel underwent a $1.4 million renovation to guest rooms and public spaces. Staff will lead tours and refreshments will be served.

Integrated Healthcare Systems

Seattle-based Integrated Healthcare Systems, a provider of automated equipment and software to pharmacies to package, barcode, store and track drug inventories, appointed Robin L. Krueger chief financial officer. Krueger has more than 25 years experience. She was chief financial officer of ImageX, an online print management company, where she was recruited to take the company public, and was vice president of finance and treasurer of Alaska Airlines.

Schneider National

Schneider National, a Green Bay, Wis.-based provider of truckload and intermodal services, opened a new intermodal field office in Auburn. Dean Yamada, regional manager of intermodal services, will head the new office.

Integrated Healthcare Systems

Integrated Healthcare Systems named Robert DellaValle, former president and chief operating officer of Allied Pharmacy Management, chief operating officer. DellaValle is also the founder and former president of Quantum Pharmacy Alliance, Creative Pharmacy Solutions and Pharmacy Healthcare Solutions. IHS is a Kent-based provider of automated equipment and software to pharmacies that package, store and track drug inventories.

Holland America Line

Holland America Line, a Seattle-based cruise line, named Ares M. Michaelides vice president, revenue marketing. Michaelides, formerly with Celebrity Cruises, will be responsible for the development and implementation of marketing programs.

Mobilisa

Mobilisa, a Port Townsend-based provider of mobile and wireless systems for the government and military, named Amy Hughes director of operations. Hughes is the former program manager for King County's Information Security and Business Continuity Projects, and was the city of Bainbridge Island's information technology officer for three years.

Budgethotels Network

Budgethotels Network named Michael R. Jones president and chief operating officer of its subsidiary, Info Centre. Jones is the creator of Pat and Pat's Place, a Web-based Internet service that combines free Internet access with coupon delivery technology. Budgethotels is based in Kelowna, B.C.
