Seattle's Parsons Public Relations added Wendy Abeel and Rosemarie Buchanan as senior account managers. Abeel has 15 years of experience in public relations and public affairs. Buchanan was a journalist and editor. Parsons Public Relations represents home, garden and environment-related clients.
Foster Pepper & Shefelman added John Ray Nelson to its Spokane office. Nelson will work in the litigation practice group and was a partner in Preston Gates & Ellis. FP&S also has offices in Seattle, Portland and Anchorage.
Spokane's ReliOn, a provider of fuel cell solutions for backup power applications, appointed Gary Flood president and chief executive officer.
Michael Felsenstein will be the executive chef for the Lynnwood Convention Center, set to open this spring at 196th Street Southwest and 37th Avenue West. Felsenstein will oversee the food and beverage department.
Redmond's EsophyX, a medical device company, appointed Thierry Thaure as chief executive officer. Thaure was senior vice president of sales and marketing at Accuray Inc.

Canlis Wine Director Shayn Bjornholm passed an exam to become a master sommelier. Bjornholm is now one of 118 professionals with the title in the world. Bjornholm created Canlis' wine program and list. Canlis Restaurant is located in Seattle.
Spokane-based World Wide Packets, a provider of Ethernet Access networking solutions, appointed its vice president of hardware engineering as chief technology officer. Kevin Daines was in the vice president post for five years and has 15 years of experience in engineering and networking.
The Seattle-based supercomputer company Cray appointed Peter Ungaro president. Ungaro was senior vice president of sales, marketing and service. He was a vice president at IBM, where he led global sales of server and storage products.
James Basile and Patrick Hopp are launching the Seattle offices of Corporate Psychology Resources, an Atlanta-based human capital consulting firm. Basile has a PhD in clinical psychology and specializes in executive development. Hopp is also a PhD and works with companies to help identify and develop talent.
