Outsource Marketing

Dan Murphy, founder and principal of M-Phatic Communications in Seattle, has joined Outsource Marketing in a merger arrangement. As communications manager, Murphy will concentrate on expanding media relations, publicity and business communications. Murphy has 20 years of experience as a business publications editor. Outsource Marketing is based in Bellevue.

Infospace

Infospace Search & Directory appointed Brian Bowman vice president of marketing and product management. Bowman will lead marketing, creative services and product management. He has 14 years of experience in consumer branding and was vice president of product development for Match.com.

Onyx

Bellevue's Onyx Software Corp. announced Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Brian Henry is resigning for personal reasons and to pursue other interests. Onyx named Robert J. Chamberlain as chief financial officer. Chamberlain managed the initial public offering of Seattle-based F5 Networks. Henry said he expects to remain with Onyx through mid-April.

Pioneer Human Services

A program of Seattle's Pioneer Human Services called "Chance for Change" was praised by Washington state in a recent report by the Re-Entry Policy Council. Seattle-based Pioneer provides employment and job training services to high-risk adults and juveniles involved with the criminal justice system. It runs six facilities in Washington.

HomeStreet Capital

Carol Pepple joined HomeStreet Capital's Seattle team as an income property senior closer. Marc Mohagen joined HomeStreet Bank as a loan officer specializing in financing for medical and dental practices. Mohagen will work with practitioners to help them buy or set up practices.

Better Lodging Group

Seattle-based Better Lodging Group signed a deal to provide management services for 11 lodging properties: Nendels Valu Inn Auburn, Chehalis Inn and Suites, Willow Springs Inn Cheney, Kings Valu Inn Enumclaw, Kalama River Inn, Monroe Motel, Best Value Airport Inn SeaTac, Country Inn and Suites Sunnyside and Cedars Suites Yakima. The company will also run operations for Tillicum Inn Umatilla in Oregon. BLG provides hospitality management solutions to meet technology needs of hospitality enterprises.

Dorsey & Whitney

International law firm Dorsey & Whitney added Michael L. Cohen to its Seattle office. Cohen is a partner in the tax, trusts and estates group. Dorsey & Whitney provides legal services to businesses and individuals. It has 19 offices in the U.S., Asia, Europe and Canada.

Mayflower Park Hotel

Les Clefs d'Or, the Seattle chapter of a concierge association, named Paul J. Ishii of the Mayflower Park Hotel general manager of the year. The competition was sponsored by Where Seattle magazine. Ishii became the Mayflower's general manager in 1998 and has 15 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry.

Anthony's Restaurants promoted Steve Funk to regional manager. He will assist management, and oversee service standards and restaurant operations. Funk was general manager at Chinook's Salmon Bay in Seattle.

National Hispana Leadership Institute

Yvonne Sanchez, director of the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, was selected to participate in a fellowship offered by the Arlington, Va.-based National Hispana Leadership Institute. Programs are designed to prepare selected Hispanic women for positions of national influence and public policy impact.

Weber Shandwick

William Brent has joined Weber Shandwick in Seattle as vice president. The company also added Laura DeHaven as information manager and Rose Tucker as a senior account executive. Ken Birge was promoted to account supervisor and Jason Wellcome to senior account executive. Weber Shandwick does technology public relations.
