Seattle-based GMI, a provider to the global online research industry, hired Sean O'Neill as vice president of product and program management, Joel Rosenberger as vice president of engineering and Dave Sampson as vice president of demand generation and customer experience. O'Neill was recently with uTango. Rosenberger was with Amazon.com. Sampson was with Sampa Corp. The appointments will strengthen the company's recently launched GMI X division, a set of technology and business processes designed to provide businesses with better information.
Bothell-based Seattle Genetics hired Vaughn Himes as executive vice president, technical operations, and promoted Morris Rosenberg to executive vice president, process sciences. Himes has 20 years of experience and was with Zymogenetics. Rosenberg has worked at Seattle Genetics since 2001. The company also recognized Peter Senter, vice president, chemistry, as its first distinguished fellow. Senter joined the company in 1998 and is a research scientist.

Heavy Restaurant Group hired Chef Mike Davis to head the kitchens of three restaurants set to open this year in Bellevue Towers: Purple Cafe & Wine Bar, Barrio and Bliss. Davis is founder, chef and owner of 26brix in Walla Walla.
Starbucks Coffee Co. hired Olden Lee as interim executive vice president, partner resources. He will oversee the strategy for human resources and succeeds Chet Kuchinad who resigned due to a family illness. Lee has been a director on Starbucks board since 2003 and previously worked for PepsiCo for 28 years.

The World Trade Center Tacoma hired Anthony Hemstad as executive director. Hemstad was recently a consultant and lobbyist, and was previously city manager in Maple Valley. He replaces James McMahan, who left the WTCT in late 2008.

Morton’s The Steakhouse Seattle promoted Liz Parker to assistant manager. Parker has worked in the restaurant industry for 12 years, nine of which have been at Morton’s Seattle where she has been bartender, server and captain. Morton’s The Steakhouse Seattle is at 1511 Sixth Ave.
Tukwila-based RPI, a digital image printing company, hired Susan Jackson as vice president of operations. Jackson was senior director of supply chain solutions centers for Philips Electronics North America Corp.
Spacecraft Clothing, a designer of hand-crafted clothing and accessories for the snowboard and skate markets, hired Kari Cassidy-Diercks as chief operating officer. Cassidy-Diercks is a founder of the Northwest Next Leaders Council and Executive Women’s Roundtable.
