Metropolitan Information Exchange

Schrier
Bill Schrier, Seattle's chief technology officer and director of the Department of Information Technology, has been elected president of the Metropolitan Information Exchange for the coming year. MIX is a national organization of chief information officers and technology executives of city and county governments with populations over 100,000.

Marshall and Associates

Marshall and Associates, a GIS integration company, has two new locations in the Pacific Northwest. The new corporate office is in the Hyde Park District of Boise while the company's Olympia staff have been relocated to the historic Mottman Building in downtown Olympia. The new Olympia address is 101 N. Capitol Way, Suite 300.

U.S. Department of Agriculture

Miles McEvoy, the founding manager of Washington State's Organic Food Program, has been named director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Organic Program. Miles joined the Washington State Department of Agriculture in 1988 as the first employee of the Organic Food Program. Under his leadership, the program has grown to 23 employees.

Haggen

Jim Donald has been named president and CEO of Haggen, Inc., a 33-store grocery company based in Bellingham. Donald worked at Starbucks from 2002 to 2008, first as president of Starbucks North America and then as president and CEO of Starbucks. Donald is succeeding Dale Henley who had held his position since 1996 and is retiring. Henley will become a non-executive chairman of the board and will continue as president/CEO of Briar Development Co., a Haggen affiliate that develops and owns real estate.

Liberty Northwest

Liberty Northwest, a Portland-based private workers compensation insurer, hired Margie Cooper as vice president, claims. She succeeds Gary Kentner, who is retiring. Cooper worked at Inner-City Underwriting in Chicago as vice president, client services.

A Helping Hand Homecare

A Helping Hand Homecare, a Seattle-based provider of nursing and in-home care services, has acquired Gig Harbor-based Senior Helpers, a provider of elderly care services worth about $400,000 in assets. The acquisition helps A Helping Hand's expand to the South Sound area. This is the company's fourth acquisition since it was founded in 2003 and the second this year.

DNA, a Seattle-based creative services agency, hired Tom Gilmartin as creative director of the Seattle team. He has 15 years of experience, recently worked at Ignited in Los Angeles and has worked with nationally known brands like Levi's, PlayStation and Lexus.

Taco Del Mar

Taco Del Mar Franchising Corp. hired Rick Braa as chief financial officer. Braa is based in the Seattle corporate office and was a principal and director of Clothier & Head, Taco Del Mar's former audit firm. Taco Del Mar is a quick service Mexican restaurant chain.
