Columbia Bank

Columbia Bank promoted Tim Stempel to senior vice president and manager commercial banking. Tim is responsible for managing 28 lenders, analysts and support staff as well as the Bank of Astoria Commercial Lending Team.

U.S. Department of Justice

After nearly 18 years, Kent Municipal Court Judge Robert B.C. McSeveney will retire to take a position with the U.S. Department of Justice as a federal immigration judge. McSeveney was Kent's first municipal court judge in January of 1994. A temporary replacement will fill the remainder of his term ending Dec. 31, 2013. Election for the position will be held in November of 2013.

NAES

NAES Corp. of Issaquah, a provider of services to the energy industry, hired William Day as vice president and general manager of the NAES Power Contractors office in Hillsboro, Ore. Day has 30 years of experience in the generation industry and was recently vice president, development engineering and construction at Calera Corp.
