Seattle-based Hotel 1000 hired Brooke Byrne as director of catering. Byrne worked as director of catering for the Arctic Club Hotel. Hotel 1000 is in downtown Seattle.

Animal Services of King County

King County executive Dow Constantine named Gene Mueller manager of Regional Animal Services of King County. Mueller led the Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center, and was president of the anti-cruelty society of Chicago. Regional Animal Services provides shelter, animal control and pet adoption services.

Integrated Rehabilitation Group

Mill Creek-based Integrated Rehabilitation Group opened a new clinic in north Seattle. Integrated Rehabilitation Group is an outpatient physical and hand therapy group.

Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas

Miles

Stoel Rives attorney Tony Miles won the connoisseur of the arts award by the Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas. Miles served two terms on the board, including three years as board chair. The Central District Forum challenges assumptions about black culture by offering cultural programs for the greater Seattle region.

Redmond-based Radiant Zemax has established a China subsidiary based in Shanghai. It will support customers and partners in the display and lighting industries. Radiant Zemax provides light and color test and measurement sytems, and optical design software.

Seattle City Light superintendent Jorge Carrasco has been appointed to serve on the Alliance Commission on National Energy Efficiency Policy, which develops and issues energy policies nationwide.

Northwest Minority Supplier Council

The Northwest MSDC hired Launa McGaughey as certification specialist. McGaughey worked in management in human resources and global services at Xerox for 33 years. The Northwest MSDC is a nonprofit that promotes business opportunties.
