Gilman

Roger Gilman, dean of Western Washington University's Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies, will retire in 2013. Gilman has been dean since 2006 and was one of the first graduates of Western's Fairhaven College, where in 1973 he received a bachelor's degree with honors, with a double major in philosophy and literature. A national search for his successor will start this fall.

Seattle Men's Chorus

Seattle Men's Chorus and Flying House Productions named Frank Stilwagner executive director. Stilwagner has been director for Flying House Productions since 2007 and prior to that was with Village Theatre, Kirkland Performance Center and ArtsWest. Flying House oversees Seattle Men's Chorus.

Tacoma-based Columbia Bank hired LuWana Woodruff-Lentz as vice president and small business administration loan officer in the Vancouver branch. Woodruff-Lentz has 32 years of banking experience and was vice president and relationship manager at West Coast Bank in the government guaranteed lending group for 10 years.

Benaroya Research Institute

Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason hired Lynn Rose, PhD as the first director of scientific administration. Rose has 30 years of biomedical research and recently served as research associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the UW School of Medicine and a faculty director at the Institute of Translational Health Sciences. Benaroya conducts immune system and autoimmune disease research.

Seattle Aquarium

The Seattle Aquarium hired Alan Maxey as director of operations. Maxey has more than 25 years of experience managing specialized venues. He worked at Seattle's EMP Museum in management, operations and maintenance, and was Benaroya Hall's first facilities director for 10 years.

Phillips has 30 years of luxury sales and service, and previously worked as director of sales and marketing at the Resort at Squaw Creek in California. Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue is a hotel and meeting center in downtown Seattle.
