Seattle-based Laird Norton Tyee hired Nick MacPhee as director of foundation and advisory services. MacPhee has 25 years of nonprofit and corporate experience and worked as managing director at the Laird Norton Family Foundation. Laird Norton Tyee is a privately held wealth management firm.


Seattle law firm Carney Badley Spellman hired Parker Keehn and Susan Schalla as associates. Keehn practices civil and commercial litigation and construction law. Schalla focuses on business mergers, acquisitions and taxation laws.
Seattle-based Freezer Longline Coalition hired Chad See as executive director. See has 10 years of experience developing coalitions and advocating to federal officials in the administration and Congress. He previously worked at K&L Gates in the public policy and law group in Washington, D.C. The coalition is a nonprofit corporation representing owners and operators of freezer longline vessels in the Pacific cod fishery in the Bering Sea.

Portland-based law firm Miller Nash hired A. Paul Firuz and Tara O'Hanlon as associates. Firuz worked as a law clerk in the social and health services division of the attorney general's office. Before joining Miller Nash, O'Hanlon worked on the Northwest Justice Program as a legal intern.

The Association of Washington Business hired Matthew Canedy as government affairs director for health care and education issues. Canedy worked as staff director of the Bipartisan Policy Center's Leaders' Project in Washington, D.C. AWB is a statewide business association.
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle appointed Cleon Butterfield of West Valley City, Utah, and Judith Olsen of Seattle to serve on the Affordable Housing Advisory Council. Butterfield is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Utah Housing Corp. Judith Olsen is executive director of Impact Capital, a financial intermediary and technical assistance provider for affordable housing and community facilities.

Seattle-based Arboretum Foundation hired Richard Bray as director of development. Bray was director of donor and community relations for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle/King county. The foundation is a nonprofit that raises funds and advocates for the arboretum.
Seattle-based law firm Cairncross & Hempelmann hired Benjamin Seeger and Jennifer Faubion as associates. Seeger worked as assistant counsel at Washington Federal. Seeger was a litigation associate for Ashbaugh Beal.
ACT Executive Director Carlo Scandiuzzi and artistic director Kurt Beattie hired John Langs as associate artistic director. Langs recently directed ACT's “The Dumb Waiter” and will direct the annual production of Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol.” His position beings January 2013.
