Starbucks appointed Matthew Ryan as global chief strategy officer. Ryan was senior vice president of global brand, franchise and customer relationship management for The Walt Disney Co.
Western Washington University provost Catherine Riordan announced Jack Herring as new dean of Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies, effective Aug. 1. Herring is dean of a campus-based undergraduate program at Prescott College in Prescott, Ariz.
Issaquah-based Enterprise Washington board chair Jessica Harbin announced Michael Davis will become the new executive director effective April 17. Enterprise Washington is a membership organization dedicated to the election of business-minded lawmakers. Davis was senior vice president of political programs for the Business Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC), a national business PAC.

Kirkland-based ad agency Hodgson/Meyers Communications hired Paul Suttell as account director. Suttell was senior marketing communications manager at Intermec.


Seattle-based communications firm Frause promoted Kate Hudson and Emily Nauseda to account executives. Hudson joined Frause as an assistant account executive in March 2012 and Nauseda was hired in February 2012 as an assistant account executive.
City Council President Sally J. Clark announced Dana Robinson Slote will be communications director for the legislative department effective April 22. Robinson Slote was director of communication for the Washington State Senate Democratic Caucus.

Laurel Potter has been promoted to Fife's economic development and marketing program manager. Potter has worked for the city since 2007. She has a BA in public relations from Washington State University and is nationally certified as a public information officer.
Bristol Bay Resource Solutions, a newly formed subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corporation, officially began operations March 25. Terri Bozkaya is president and CEO. Bristol Bay Resource Solutions provide services to the native corporation's subsidiaries in construction and tourism.
Issaquah-based NAES Corp., which provides services to the energy industry, hired Duncan Brown as director of corporate development and engineering services. Duncan was senior project manager with Science Applications International.
