Kirkland-based Precision Image Analysis named Dr. Scott D. Flamm M.D. as medical director. Flamm is section head for cardiovascular imaging in radiology at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Precision Image Analysis uses cloud-based HIPAA-compliant IT architecture that facilitates sharing and rapid transfer of data from cardiac MRIs.

Pineapple Hospitality

Bellevue-based Pineapple Hospitality has aquired Hotel Fifty in downtown Portland. The 140-room boutique hotel will be renamed Hotel Rose. Pineapple Hospitality is the hotel management division of Columbia West Properties.

Arizona-based Blueocean Market Intelligence hired Anees Merchant as senior vice president of digital analytics in the Bellevue office. Merchant has 16 years of experience in the services sector, primarily working with Global Fortune 500 clients. Blueocean is focused on market intelligence, social media and data analytics.

K&L Gates

The law firm K&L Gates hired David L. Benson and David P. Hattery as partners in the energy practice, and Michael S. Kelley as partner in the tax practice in the Seattle office. Benson and Hattery worked for Stoel Rives. Kelley worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Flaherty

Governor Jay Inslee appointed Heather Flaherty as 2013-2014 student trustee at Western Washington University. Flaherty works as an executive assistant to the CEO of Peacehealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham. At WWU, she was on the student support staff for the Alumni Association, admissions representative, orientation student advisor and a resident advisor.

The Fearey Group

Seattle-based Fearey Group hired Alex Fryer as account supervisor. Fryer owned and operated a communications consulting firm and prior to that was a reporter for KUOW-FM, Puget Sound Business Journal and The Seattle Times. The Fearey Group is an independent public relations firm.

Freedom Foundation

The Freedom Foundation in Olympia announced that former Washington State Auditor Brian Sonntag will become its senior fellow for government accountability. Sonntag served 20 years as state auditor and was honored by the National Freedom of Information Center, which inducted him into the State Open Government Hall of Fame. Freedom Foundation is based in Olympia and says its mission is to advance individual liberty, free enterprise, and limited, accountable government.

Clark Nuber added Amber S. Busch as a tax principal. She has worked with Clothier & Head, Moss Adams and KPMG, and focuses on tax compliance and consulting to privately owned mid-market clients in the real estate, senior living, hospitality and health care industries.
