Aberdeen-based Bank of the Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pacific Financial Corp., has opened a full-service branch at 651 S.E. Martin Ave. in Warrenton, Ore. It also has branches in Seaside and Astoria, Ore., and 16 branches in Grays Harbor, Pacific, Whatcom, Skagit and Wahkiakum counties in Washington. Loan production centers are in Clark, Skagit and Thurston counties. Pam Rush is the Warrenton branch manager.
Hacker Group, digital/direct marketing agency in Seattle, promoted Matt Witter from vice president account services to general manager. The company was founded in 1986.
WildSide Pets, a full-service pet store, has moved from Puyallup to Lakewood. It opened in 2004 and is run by Cindy Taylor and her daughter, Cari Aida. They are licensed to sell exotic animals such as sugar gliders, squirrels and hedgehogs, as well as common domestic pets. They also sell supplies and services. The new store is at 3615 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W.

Kenneth Gotsch is the new assistant superintendent for business and finance. He starts Dec. 2 in the position vacated by Duggan Harman. Gotsch will oversee the departments of finance and audit response, and provide leadership on financial issues involving human resources. He comes from Chicago, where he was vice president for business affairs/chief financial officer at Columbia College Chicago. He also worked as CFO for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
The Washington State Department of Commerce recently appointed Ken Casavant, professor of economics at Washington State University, to the Community Economic Revitalization Board. He was appointed to a three-year term as the board economist.

Julia Abelev and Margaret M. Grega have joined Lane Powell's Construction and Litigation Practice Groups, respectively. Abelev focuses on complex disputes involving construction, contract and environmental law. She was a summer associate at Lane Powell and an intern to Judge Bruce E. Heller of King County Superior Court. Grega was also a summer associate at Lane Powell and a legal extern to Judge Deborah M. Smith of the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska and Judge Karl Boettner at the Washington State Office of Administrative Hearings.
Bellevue-based Clark Nuber, a CPA and consulting firm, has made several new hires: Adam Bystedt, Doug Denneson, Mai Cha and Brittani Reiterman are audit associates; Johnathan Diem, Kelsey Hicks, Andrew Murphy, Jacob Strba and Christine Sorteberg are tax associates; and Krystal Kurokawa is an audit senior.

Bell Harbor International Conference Center named Brian Flaherty as general manager and Ashley Asher as director of sales. Flaherty worked at the Bellevue Club and Hotel Bellevue, where was general manager. He was vice president of operations at MTM Luxury Lodging, and came to Seattle to be general manager at the Olympic Hotel. Asher worked at Washington Athletic Club as director of catering sales, and at Santa Barbara Four Seasons, and Ojai Valley Inn and Spa.
Gov. Jay Inslee has a new chief of staff: senior adviser Joby Shimomura. Shimomura will replace Mary Alice Heuschel, who has served as chief of staff since January. Heuschel will now work on updating a program to track government performance and efficiency. Shimomura served as Inslee's chief of staff for six years when he was in Congress and managed several of his campaigns.
