Bellevue Downtown Association

Jacobson

The Bellevue Downtown Association said Ross Jacobson, attorney for Williams Kastner, is 2014 board chair. He is a Bellevue resident and has served on several boards including Rotary Club of Bellevue and Bellevue Chamber of Commerce.

Pacific Northwest Ballet

Pacific Northwest Ballet named Ellen Walker the next executive director. She is PNB's director of marketing and communications, and will succeed retiring Executive Director D. David Brown in July. Walker teaches arts marketing in Seattle University and has worked as a marketing consultant to arts and civic organizations.

King County

King County Council confirmed Adrienne Quinn as director of the Department of Community and Human Service. She has served as acting director since November. Quinn oversees a $350 million budget and a staff of 295 people in Community Services, Developmental Disabilities, and Mental Health, Chemical Abuse and Dependency Services. She was executive director of Medina Foundation in Seattle and director of the Seattle Office of Housing.

Samuel Jacobs has joined the Seattle law office of Helsell Fetterman. He has practiced land use and real estate law in Seattle for more than 30 years, most recently as a partner in Mosler, Schermer & Jacobs. His focus is on development issues, housing cooperatives, floating home communities, and condo and homeowner associations. Jacobs has been a board member and president of Capitol Hill Housing.

Swerland

Shauna Swerland, an executive recruiter with more than 19 years of experience, announced the launch of Fuel Talent. She is the founder and CEO. The company is the result of her acquisition of the Seattle office of Glocap Search, a New York City-based executive search firm where she was a partner for 10 years. Fuel Talent will focus on full-time, consulting and temporary jobs in marketing, creative, accounting, administrative, tech and sales for early-stage start-ups to established fortune 500 companies.

Hornall Anderson

Jack Anderson, co-founder and CEO of 31-year-old branding and design firm Hornall Anderson, is now the firm's chairman. The president of operations, John Anicker, has been named president and CEO. Anderson started the company in 1982 with John Hornall. It is now a global firm and part of Diversified Agency Services, a division of Omnicom Group, with offices in Seattle and London. Clients include Starbucks, PepsiCo, Nordstrom, Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building. Anicker has been with the firm for over 20 years.

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo & Co. is expanding its Silicon Valley-based Technology Banking Division in Seattle with the hiring of John Flemming and Derek Watanabe. Flemming joined Wells Fargo in 2007 after working for Silicon Valley Bank serving tech clients in the Northwest. Watanabe worked for U.S. Bank in Bellevue and Seattle, most recently as a portfolio manager and team leader. The technology division has four groups: technology, clean tech, life sciences and venture fund services. It has nine offices nationwide in California, Austin, Boston and Seattle.

Nintex

Bellevue-based Nintex, a creator of workflow software, said Eric Johnson is the new chief financial officer. Christian Smith is senior vice president of global sales. Johnson comes from Jive Software where he was vice president of finance.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

The Hutchinson Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research, a research institute based at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, hired Gary Lyman as co-director. He was a professor of medicine and senior fellow at Duke Center for Clinical Health Policy Research. Lyman will co-lead HICOR with Scott Ramsey.
