Roth

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker said Howard W. Roth joined the firm as of counsel in Seattle. Roth, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, will focus on government contracts, including bid protests, contract claims and disputes, intellectual property and maritime contracts. He was legal counsel for construction of more than 50 buildings in seven states and advised a team developing an IT data center.

North Seattle College

Brown

Warren J. Brown, an administrator at community colleges throughout Western Washington, is the next president of North Seattle College, starting July 1. Brown is executive vice president for instruction and student services at Seattle Central College and an adjunct faculty member at Seattle University. He has a doctor of education degree in higher education. North Seattle College serves more than 15,000 students a year.

Bullitt Foundation

Amy Solomon is stepping down from her position at the Bullitt Foundation in May and the foundation has hired Rashad Morris as the new energy, industry and technology program officer. Morris was the principal staff member on climate and energy for Washington Environmental Council and worked as legislative assistant to Seattle City Councilmember Mike O'Brien. Solomon plans to reopen her consulting practice.

Sound Transit

Davison

Sound Transit hired Craig Davison as executive director of communications and external affairs. He has 18 years of marketing experience and was previously senior director of marketing in Microsoft's Xbox Division. He also worked for Sierra Entertainment and Weber Shandwick. Davison will oversee marketing, creative services, customer outreach, media relations, public information and public involvement, and succeeds Ron Klein, who has retired.

Steinway & Sons

Steinway & Sons of Long Island City, N.Y., is opening a company-owned piano dealership and gallery in Bellevue at 2616 Bellevue Way N.E., with a grand opening on Sunday, April 6. This is the first time Steinway has had a company-owned dealership in the region. Steinway Piano Gallery of Bellevue will handle sales and service. It will be managed by Gary Finkelstein of Seattle, who will be joined by teacher and sales professional Oscar Spidahl.

Espinoza

KCTS 9 has named Carlos Espinoza vice president of marketing and communications. He will oversee marketing, communications, community engagement and graphic design. Espinoza was chief marketing officer for SwordStone Digital Agency in Los Angeles, a marketing agency for national broadcast and entertainment clients. He also worked for Cox Media Group in Seattle and KOMO-TV.

BakerHostetler

BakerHostetler said Randy Gainer, an information security expert whose practice focuses on data breaches, compliance, risk and computer litigation, has joined the Seattle office as a partner. He was with Davis Wright Tremaine.

Garvey Schubert Barer said Emily Studebaker has returned to the Seattle law firm after leaving Davis Wright Tremaine. Studebaker focuses on health law and advises ambulatory surgery centers and physicians. She attended the University of Washington School of Law and Duke University.

Kohler

Kohler opened a Kohler Signature store in Bellevue, operated by Keller Supply Co. for design professionals and homeowners. It carries bath and kitchen faucets and sinks, showerheads, tubs, toilets, tile and other bath products. The store is at 1018 116th Ave. N.E. Keller Supply operates more than 70 branches and 25 showrooms in eight western states.

Eating Recovery Center

Eating Recovery Center is partnering with The Moore Center to develop a 24-hour treatment program for male and female adults and adolescents that will open soon at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. The 24-bed residential program will mirror Eating Recovery Center's residential programs in Denver. Ken Weiner, MD, is founding partner and CEO of Eating Recovery Center. He said the group looks for regions that need more treatment for eating disorders.
