Pierce County Library System hired two new directors. Cheree Green is staff experience director and will manage human resources. She was human resources director at Franciscan Medical Group/Franciscan Health System. Linda Farmer, APR, is marketing and community relations director. She was communications director for the Association of Washington School Principals.
Governor Jay Inslee appointed Mary Margaret Haugen and Lisa Wellman to the Public Works Board. Haugen has represented the 10th District in the State Legislature for 30 years. Wellman has held executive positions in Fortune 100 companies and served on nonprofit boards. The Public Works Board helps local governments meet critical infrastructure needs.
The Washington State Department of Revenue named Katie Gerard assistant director of human resources. Gerard was section chief for planning and strategy in the state's Human Resources Division at the Office of Financial Management.

After a 41-year absence in Portland, USO Northwest is opening a new center July 1 and named Christine Vu as manager. She was named USO Northwest's 2013 Volunteer of the Year for Oregon. The center is on the mezzanine level of Portland International Airport. It will be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
Darrell E. Bryan, president and CEO of Clipper Navigation in Seattle, was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker to a two-year term on the Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, which advises Commerce on the industry, including how to streamline the visa and entry process, boost tourism at national parks, improve data collection and help promote the U.S. as a travel destination.
Issaquah-based Red Arrow Logistics named Garrett Bradham vice president of global markets. He has experience in inventory management, process improvement, sourcing and project management in manufacturing, retail, travel and hospitality, and was a global sourcing manager for InterContinental Hotels Group. Red Arrow has more than 3,500 contracted carriers in the U.S., and air and ocean services in 185 countries.

Salim Shariff, chief investment officer of Federal Way Asset Management, said Michael J. Phillips has joined the company as chairman and CEO. Phillips spent 25 years with Russell Investments, serving as chairman from 2002 to 2008 and CEO from 1993 to 2003. He started in the London office in 1981, and became president in 1990. Federal Way Asset Management started in 2012 and manages approximately $5 billion in assets.
Wells Fargo Private Bank named Allison Bren Ferris head of Special Needs Trust Services, one of nine lines of services offered by Wells Fargo Private Bank. The goal is to maximizing eligibility for public financial and medical benefits, meet cash flow needs and enhance clients' quality of life. Ferris has worked in the department as vice president and senior trust and fiduciary specialist.
Kelly Kraus has joined PMI as vice president of Stanley. Kraus was with REI as director of private brands for all categories including bikes, tents, packs, outerwear and accessories. She also worked at Werner Paddles, Cascade Designs and MSR. Seattle-based PMI manufactures, markets and designs food and beverage gear, including Stanley brand products.
