Terrie Battuello, the Port of Everett's chief of business development, was recertified by the International Economic Development Council. About 1,000 people nationwide hold the designation, which must be done every three years. Battuello leads the Port of Everett's 64-acre marina district redevelopment called Waterfront Place.
Frazier Healthcare, a provider of growth capital to health care companies, said Chris Karkenny joined the growth buyout team as an operating partner. Karkenny has over 25 years of experience in both public and private companies, working on repositioning strategies, sales, and mergers and acquisitions.
Alliant Insurance Services, a California-based specialty insurance brokerage, said Chad Schulz has joined the Employee Benefits Group as first vice president. Schulz was a principal in the Seattle office of a global employee benefits consulting firm, and will be based in the Seattle office of Alliant.
Opus Bank said Jason Gill has joined as director, client manager for commercial banking in the Pacific Northwest region. The 25-year banking veteran will focus on expanding in the Seattle/Puget Sound region. Gill was with Key Bank in Seattle.

Bellevue-based Esterline named Charles Johnson president of Esterline Advanced Sensors group, which has five facilities and 1,000 employees in France, Mexico, Singapore, the U.K. and the U.S. He has 36 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and business.
Pacific Northwest Ballet was selected by Wallace Foundation's Building Audiences for Sustainability program to win a $565,000 grant to help bring more millennials into its audience. Two other groups in Seattle won Wallace Foundation grants: Seattle Opera got $360,000 to develop strategies to increase attendance and Seattle Symphony got $385,000 to study new urban cultural consumers.
Lloyd's, a global specialist insurance company, named Richard Magrath regional director for the western U.S. Magrath spent over 30 years in the global property and casualty sector, with assignments in London, Riyadh, Atlanta and New York. He will be based in Los Angeles and oversee California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Alaska and Hawaii. Lloyd's is a major provider of natural catastrophe insurance in the West.

Julie Collins has joined the Port of Seattle's executive team as senior director of public affairs handling government relations, community outreach, strategic communications and airport public relations. She was chief external affairs officer at the Port of Tacoma and serves on the executive Due Diligence team to develop the Seaport Alliance.
Sakuma Family Businesses said Danny R. Weeden is the new president and CEO for the company, which includes Sakuma Bros. Farms, Sakuma Bros. Processing and Norcal Nursery. He succeeds Steven Sakuma, who will continue as chairman of the board. Weeden most recently with Oregon Cherry Growers and also worked at Olympic Foods in Spokane. Sakuma Bros. Farms said it will now will pay harvest pickers an hourly rate of $10/hour plus a production bonus.
