King County Assessor

Assessor Lloyd Hara was appointed to chair the Information Technology Committee of the National Association of Counties, and will also serve on the Large Urban County Caucus. NACo advocates on policy issues for 3,069 county governments. Hara chairs the Washington State Association of County Assessors' Computer Technology Committee.

Columbia Hospitality

Seattle-based hospitality management and consulting firm Columbia Hospitality has a new agreement with Ryan Moore Golf and will begin managing McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard, Oakbrook Golf Club in Lakewood and The Classic Golf Club in Spanaway. All are public courses in Washington state. Shawn Cucciardi, one of Ryan Moore Golf's founding members, will join Columbia's leadership team.

Washington State Budget & Policy Center

Werschkul

Washington State Budget & Policy Center has named a new executive director: Misha Werschkul. She has spent 10 years in leadership roles with Service Employees International Union in Washington, D.C., and the Seattle-based Local 775 of SEIU. She was SEIU 775's legislative and policy director.

Esterline

Bellevue-based Esterline, a specialty manufacturer for aerospace and defense markets, named a new segment president and consolidated its senior operational team. Roger A. Ross will lead the sensors and systems segment, succeeding Alan M. Durand, who resigned. Ross worked for United Technologies Aerospace Systems. Esterline's avionics and controls and advanced materials segment will be managed by Albert S. Yost.

Hunsucker Goodstein

The Lafayette, California-based law firm of Hunsucker Goodstein has opened an office in Seattle. It now has offices in Washington D.C., Denver, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area that focus on environmental law, business insurance and securities arbitration. The Seattle office will be led by Philip Hunsucker. Prior to forming the firm in 1995, he was a senior partner at a national law firm, and a judge advocate in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps.

Grant Thornton

Grant Thornton admitted Joshua Harms as tax partner and Zeljko “Z” Zelic as audit partner in the Seattle office, and promoted Candice Bassell to forensic and valuation services managing director. Harms joined the firm in 2007 and has 15 years of experience. Zelic joined in 2003 and has more than 15 years of experience. Bassell joined in 2005 and has 10 years of experience.

Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention

Abdullah

Saudia J. Abdullah has been appointed director of community corrections in King County's Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention. Abdullah was director of federal reentry operations at Pioneer Human Services in Seattle, and was a policy analyst at the Council of State Governments Justice Center in New York City. She has also served on the advisory board for King County Public Defenders.

Federal Reserve Bank

Nelson

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco appointed Carol K. Nelson, Pacific region executive and Seattle market president of KeyBank, to the Seattle Branch board of directors. Nelson joined KeyBank in January, and is responsible for business and private banking in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. She also was director of Washington State Department of Revenue and CEO at Cascade Bank.
