Dexter + Chaney

The Seattle-based construction software company Dexter + Chaney named Brian Rice chief financial officer. Rice replaces John Ulacia, who is retiring after 20 years. Rice was CFO/COO at LexBlog and CFO at NetMotion Wireless, and worked with Ernst & Young in Seattle and Paris.

EmSpring

Hub International Limited, a Chicago-based global insurance brokerage, acquired the assets of EmSpring Corp., which operates in Yakima, Bellevue and Spokane, and specializes in employee benefits. EmSpring CEO Dan Fisher and President Ed Haines will join Hub Northwest. Tim Kennedy is employee benefits practice leader at Hub Northwest.

Expedia CruiseShipCenters said it plans to expand into six U.S. cities and is seeking franchise partners in Seattle, New York, Orlando, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Atlanta. The franchise network is part of Expedia and has more than 200 retail locations open or under development.

Puget Sound Bank

Puget Sound Bank hired Jacob Beaty as vice president for financial reporting and analysis officer, a new position that will focus on reporting processes, profitability management and product pricing. He was with Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle for 10 years, most recently as an enterprise risk analysis manager.

Byergo

Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, a labor and employment law firm representing management, has opened a Seattle office with shareholder Tony Byergo, who co-founded the Kansas City office, and attorney Sarah Evans. They will collaborate with the Portland office. Byergo chairs the collective bargaining practice subgroup and has 25 years of experience. Evans focuses on litigation and preventive counseling. The firm has 48 offices in the U.S., Europe and Mexico.

Washington Health Benefit Exchange

Washington Health Benefit Exchange, which operates the health insurance marketplace, named Carole Holland interim CFO, replacing Robert Nakahara. Holland has held senior level fiscal positions in state agencies, the legislature and governor's office. Nearly two million people have used Washington Healthplanfinder, and the uninsured rate has dropped from 16.8 percent to 6.4 percent since the exchange opened.

King County Assessor

Assessor Lloyd Hara was appointed to chair the Information Technology Committee of the National Association of Counties, and will also serve on the Large Urban County Caucus. NACo advocates on policy issues for 3,069 county governments. Hara chairs the Washington State Association of County Assessors' Computer Technology Committee.

Columbia Hospitality

Seattle-based hospitality management and consulting firm Columbia Hospitality has a new agreement with Ryan Moore Golf and will begin managing McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard, Oakbrook Golf Club in Lakewood and The Classic Golf Club in Spanaway. All are public courses in Washington state. Shawn Cucciardi, one of Ryan Moore Golf's founding members, will join Columbia's leadership team.
