Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce

Johnson

Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce named Meadow Johnson senior vice president of government relations. She will lead policy and government activities, and work with private, public and nonprofit sectors. Johnson was deputy chief of staff to Seattle Mayor Ed Murray and was district director for U.S. Representative Derek Kilmer. She also worked for Gogerty Marriott.

Rock Steady Boxing Seattle

Wells Fargo named Rock Steady Boxing Seattle one of 25 finalists in the Wells Fargo Works Project contest. More than 4,200 small businesses entered the national contest. Five grand prize winners will be selected to receive $25,000 and mentorship from a small business expert. Karen Johanson launched Rock Steady Boxing, an affiliate of Rock Steady Boxing, to help people with Parkinson's disease with fitness. Finalists get $1,000 from Wells Fargo.

Novinium

LaClair

Kent-based Novinium said Mike LaClair has returned as Northeast regional sales manager, responsible for direct sales of cable rehab products and services to the utility and industrial markets. LaClair has over 20 years of experience in sales management.

Washington Appleseed

Helm

Washington Appleseed is giving the Bradley C. Diggs Outstanding Service Award to Lucy Helm, Starbucks executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary, for advancing social justice in her work with MercyCorps, Washington YMCA, Disability Rights Advocates and Parkview Services. The award will be presented at Breakfast with the Best Oct. 14. Appleseed is a legal advocacy nonprofit focused on social and economic issues.

Washington State University

Michael and Virginia Jessemey McCarty won the Washington State University Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award for service to the community, state and WSU. He was CEO of the Association of Washington Cities. She owns McCarty & Associates marketing firm. Both are active in philanthropic, church and economic development efforts.

REI

REI promoted Rachel Ligtenberg to vice president of retail. She has had a 25-year career with the co-op and leads store design, visual merchandising and flagship strategy. She will focus on new store design concepts. The co-op has 141 stores in 33 states, and four flagship stores: Seattle, Denver, Bloomington, Minn., and New York. The fifth flagship will open next fall in the Uline Arena in Washington, D.C.

Marchex

Marchex, a mobile advertising analytics company, named two new people to its executive leadership team. Kenshoo and Oracle veteran Gary Nafus is chief revenue officer. Matt Muilenburg, who most recently spearheaded international strategy and business development at CDK Global, has joined as senior vice president, customer evangelist.

Heikkila

Salish Lodge & Spa named Matt Heikkila executive chef, leading the 40-person culinary team for The Dining Room and The Attic restaurants as well as the new Chef's Studio. He has experience at Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club in Blaine and the private golf club TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, and joined Salish Lodge last year.
