9th Federal Circuit Court

Bryan

U.S. District Court Judge Robert Bryan was recognized by the American Inns of Court, winning the Professionalism Award for the 9th Federal Circuit. Bryan founded the Puget Sound American Inns of Court in 1987. The nonprofit promotes professionalism in the legal community.

Heathman Hotel

A new pastry chef has joined Heathman Hotel and Trellis Restaurant: Jacquelynn Beckman. She worked at 24 Carrots Catering and Events in Irvine, California, and Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel.

Pierce County

Pierce County named Tiffany Speir director of government relations. Speir will help develop policies, manage legislative activities, and coordinate with agencies and local groups. She was with South Sound Military and Communities Partnership, worked for Master Builders Association of Pierce County and was a partner at Fraser, Robinson and Speir.

Justice

Kim Justice has been named director of the new Office of Homeless Youth Prevention and Protection Programs at the state Department of Commerce. Justice served on the board of The Mockingbird Society, a youth advocacy organization, and is senior budget analyst for the Washington State Budget and Policy Center.

Feldeisen

Semiahmoo Resort, Golf and Spa in Blaine hired Bruno Feldeisen as executive chef. He will oversee banquet and catering operations. Feldeisen has nearly three decades of experience at Hotel de Paris in Monaco, Four Seasons Hotel in New York and Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.

Dave Tolan and Zach Nethercutt, owners of The Belltown Pub, are launching a new restaurant: Tr3s Cocina/Cantina, with executive chef and partner Erwin Arceo focusing on traditional foods of Mexico. It is at 2328 First Ave.

Gotcha Covered

Gotcha Covered, a provider of interior window treatments, now has a franchise in Seattle run by Daniel Babcock. There are 60 franchisees in the U.S. and Canada.
