U.S. Bank

U.S. Bank is opening a new branch in Insignia Towers at Fifth and Bell in Belltown, across the street from Belltown Community Center. It will open March 21. The branch is designed so that employees can greet customers as they enter and will have spaces for in-depth conversations as well as a community room that nonprofits and businesses can use free of charge. Scott Scherschligt II will manage the branch, with a team of 17 people offering banking, mortgage, small business and wealth management services. U.S. Bank has 95 branches in the Seattle area.

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt

The law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt has made David Boyajian, Sara Cotton, Bradley Maier, Michael Moore, William Ohle, Yvonne Tingleaf, Farron Curry and Vladimir Raskin shareholders. Curry and Raskin are in the Seattle office and the others are in Portland.

Washington Sea Grant

Dye

Paul Dye has joined Washington Sea Grant as assistant director for outreach at the marine research, education and outreach organization. Dye has 30 years of experience in conservation, from bottomland hardwood forests to subtropical coral reefs, as well as marine habitats in the Pacific Northwest. He was with The Nature Conservancy as director of marine conservation for Washington. Washington Sea Grant is based at the UW College of the Environment.

Lane Powell

Spelman

Katherine C. Spelman has joined Lane Powell as a shareholder in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group. She was a partner with K&L Gates LLP and a founding partner in Cobalt LLP. Spelman has more than 30 years of experience, with a focus on media, licensing and mass digitization issues.

Washington Restaurant Association

Hoang

The Washington Restaurant Association said Taylor Hoang won the National Restaurant Association's 2015 Faces of Diversity Award honoring people who have succeeded in the face of adversity. Hoang is an entrepreneur and leader in the Asian and business communities. She opened Pho Cyclo Cafe at age 28, and now has five locations and a catering company. She is executive director of Ethnic Business Coalition, and mentors and advocates for entrepreneurs.

Socrata

Socrata, a Seattle-based software firm focused on data-driven digital government, made several new hires: Jackie Golden, senior vice president of customer success; Bill Cull, senior vice president of sales; and Robin Jones, vice president of strategic growth. Bill Lawler has become senior vice president of learning and development. Socrata works with government, public safety groups, law enforcement and NGOs.

Circadia

Jake Kosseff, a sommelier and partner at Miller's Guild, and Jeanie Inglis, a strategist for wineries and startups, announced they will open Circadia late this summer at 624 Olive Way, in space that was the original home of El Gaucho restaurant. The fine dining restaurant is inspired by Hollywood and New York City eateries of the 1930s. The executive chef is Garrett Melkonian of Mamnoon.

Madrona Venture Labs

Madrona Venture Labs in Seattle has named an advisory board of inventors, entrepreneurs and angel investors who will work with the MVL team on new ideas, customer development, talent acquisition and company building. MVL is a startup studio in Madrona Venture Group that will help decide what ideas get seed capital. The advisers are Spencer Rascoff of Zillow Group, Darrell Cavens of zulily, Jane Park of Julep, Raj Singh of Accolade, Dawn Lepore, Oren Etzioni of Allen Institute for AI, T.A. McCann of Rival IQ, Jonathan Sposato of PicMonkey, Andy Liu of BuddyTV and Mark Mader of SmartSheet.
