Phillips Burgess

Trevor Zandell has joined the law firm of Phillips Burgess. He has been practicing law in Olympia for nearly a decade, and will focus his practice on real estate, construction, landlord-tenant issues and business law. He was with Swanson Law Firm in Olympia. Phillips Burgess specializes in business, real estate and environmental law, with offices in Olympia and Tacoma.

HomeStreet Bank

HomeStreet Bank is expanding into San Diego with two new branches: Mission Gorge at 6515 Mission Gorge Road and Kearny Mesa at 9363 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. The bank said it will grow to 117 branches and home loan centers in nine western states. It bought Orange County Business Bank in Irvine, acquired Simplicity Bank in Los Angeles and launched HomeStreet Commercial Capital in Brea.

Northwest Center

Northwest Center has a new CEO: Ben Ravani, a former Microsoft executive. He also has worked at Cummins, Boeing and as a strategic advisor and investor to health care and tech startups. The center in Seattle serves people with disabilities through education, rehabilitation and work opportunities. It is one of the largest nonprofit employers of people with disabilities in the Northwest.

Wine Grape Growers

John Derrick of Mercer Canyons was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors for Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers. Ken Lewis of Trail View Farm and Patrick Rawn of Two Mountain Winery were re-elected to three-year terms. Officers were also elected: Todd Newhouse as chair, Patrick Rawn as vice chair, and Ken Lewis as secretary/treasurer. The board is Todd Newhouse of Upland Vineyards, Lynne Chamberlain of Spofford Station Vineyards, Shane Collins of Tsillan Cellars, Julia Kock of Klipsun Vineyards, Scott Williams of Kiona Vineyards and Mike Means of Ste Michelle Wine Estates.

Northwest Kidney Centers

Not-for-profit dialysis provider Northwest Kidney Centers recently named two new members to the Foundation Board. Catherine Bylund has worked on the annual Discovery Gala and President's Society. Dr. Lisa Nakamoto is a clinical nephrologist practicing at The Polyclinic.

Skagit Bank

Skagit Bank hired Matt Barber as a residential real estate loan officer in the new Ballard branch. Barber moved here from Charleston, South Carolina, and has worked in mortgage lending for 10 years. John Howe was named branch manager of the main office in Burlington. He has worked in banking for 17 years. Skagit Bank has offices in Skagit, Snohomish, Whatcom and King counties.

BakerHostetler

The law firm BakerHostetler named Curt Roy Hineline a partner in the Seattle office. He was with Bracewell and chaired that firm's Seattle litigation practice. BakerHostetler opened a Seattle office in 2014 when it combined with the intellectual property firm Woodcock Washburn. Hineline focuses on complex commercial, business and securities litigation. The firm has 14 U.S. offices.

U.S. Bank

U.S. Bank is opening a new branch in Insignia Towers at Fifth and Bell in Belltown, across the street from Belltown Community Center. It will open March 21. The branch is designed so that employees can greet customers as they enter and will have spaces for in-depth conversations as well as a community room that nonprofits and businesses can use free of charge. Scott Scherschligt II will manage the branch, with a team of 17 people offering banking, mortgage, small business and wealth management services. U.S. Bank has 95 branches in the Seattle area.

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt

The law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt has made David Boyajian, Sara Cotton, Bradley Maier, Michael Moore, William Ohle, Yvonne Tingleaf, Farron Curry and Vladimir Raskin shareholders. Curry and Raskin are in the Seattle office and the others are in Portland.
