Ogden Murphy Wallace

Ogden Murphy Wallace has added Andrew Sachs as a member. He is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer, who worked as a TV news reporter before going to law school. Sachs handles complex commercial cases for tech companies, consumer products firms and financial institutions. He also was president of QLaw, the GLBT bar association for the state of Washington.

Seattle Genetics

Seattle Genetics announced two promotions and an appointment to the company's clinical development leadership team. Vaughn B. Himes, Ph.D., has been promoted to chief technical officer. Dennis Benjamin, Ph.D., has been promoted to senior vice president for translational research. Robert J. Lechleider, M.D., was appointed senior vice president for clinical development.

Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine

The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University added four administrators: Danny Teraguchi is associate dean of student affairs, Ann Poznanski is associate dean of curriculum, Ralitsa Akins is associate dean of faculty talent, recognition and enhancement, and Dawn Cooper is interim assistant dean of medical student scholarship.

Lane Powell has formed a Business Transitions Team. A. Jeffery Bird, Lewis M. Horowitz and Benjamin G. Lenhart will lead the group, which assists clients in developing transition plans. The firm said many private businesses do not have such plans at a time when baby boomers are retiring.

Seattle Municipal Court

Seattle Municipal Court Presiding Judge Karen Donohue won the 2016 Judge William Nevins Award for her work with youth and civic education. Donohue co-founded the Seattle Youth Traffic Court in 2012, a partnership between Seattle Municipal Court, Seattle University School of Law, Garfield High School and Seattle Police Department that promotes understanding of the law and courts.

Washington State University

Washington State University's Museum of Art Director Chris Bruce, 69, will retire Oct. 14. Since he joined the museum in 2003 it has organized 90 percent of its own exhibitions, and five have toured to other U.S. museums. Construction starts soon on a new $15 million museum building on Terrell Mall. Bruce was a curator at the University of Washington's Henry Art Gallery, and was founding director of curatorial and collections at Paul Allen's Experience Music Project.

Washington State Bar Association

Washington State Bar Association gave Perkins Coie and Microsoft the 2016 Pro Bono Award for providing volunteer legal assistance to immigrant youth from the community in a partnership with Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.
