Neighborcare Health

Barbara Shickich was elected chair of the board of directors for Neighborcare Health, a nonprofit community health center that has been operating for nearly 50 years. It is the largest primary health care home in Seattle and Vashon Island for low-income, homeless and uninsured families and individuals, and last year served nearly 70,000 people in 28 clinics. Shickich is with Riddell Williams law firm.

Junior Achievement

Four business and civic leaders will be honored by Junior Achievement of Washington on May 4 for their impact on the local economy and communities: Carl G. Behnke, former president of Alpac Corp. and co-owner of Sur la Table; Artie Buerk, chair of the UW Foster School of Business advisory board; Donald P. Nielsen, former president of Hazelton Corp.; and Judith M. Runstad, former co-managing partner with Foster Pepper.

Tasker

Ernst & Young LLP appointed Tim Tasker managing partner of the Seattle office. Tasker has over 27 years of experience providing audit services to public and private companies. He succeeds Dan Smith, who is planning to retire in 2018, after 38 years with the firm.

JDog Junk Removal

JDog Junk Removal & Hauling said it wants to expand in the Seattle area and open five new franchise locations. Nationally it has 74 franchise locations, including one in Lakewood, Pierce County. JDog said it awards franchises to military veterans and veteran family members.

City of Fife

McClellan

Fife City Council has appointed Lisa McClellan to a vacant council seat. She will serve until a successor is selected and confirmed in either the 2017 primary or general election. McClellan has been on Fife's Planning Commission since 2016, and was on the Fife Parks & Recreation Advisory Board from 2014 to 2016.

Kirkland Arts Center

Dylla

Kirkland Arts Center said Kelly Dylla has been named executive director. She was VP of education and community engagement for Seattle Symphony from 2012 to 2015. She also worked at Pacific Symphony.

BECU

BECU credit union said Melba Bartels will join the company as chief financial officer effective May 1, overseeing accounting and treasury teams.

Bartels was CFO and senior executive vice president at HomeStreet Bank in Seattle, responsible for an asset base of more than $6 billion. She spent six years at JPMorgan Chase, serving as CFO of the Auto Finance and Student Lending Division, and also worked at Washington Mutual Bank and Ragen Mackenzie Group. BECU has 45 locations in Washington and two in South Carolina.

CarMax

CarMax, a used car retailer, opened stores in Lynnwood and Puyallup that are its first locations in the Puget Sound region. The Puyallup store is at 202 Valley Ave. N.W. and the Lynnwood store is at 21317 Highway 99. CarMax operates more than 170 stores in 39 states.
