Peth

Skagit Bank elected Dan Peth chairman of the board. He is president of John Peth & Sons and manages a cattle ranch that his family has operated in Skagit County since 1899. Peth has been a Skagit Bank board member for over 17 years. Skagit Bank has offices in Skagit, Snohomish, Whatcom and King counties.

United Way of King County

Angela and Ethan Stowell of Ethan Stowell Restaurants will co-chair the 2017-2018 fundraising campaign for United Way of King County. It kicked off July 1 and runs through June 30, 2018. They are among the youngest co-chairs in United Way's history, and want to bring new approaches to the campaign.

King County

King County Deputy Executive Sung Yang is leaving the Executive's Office to join Pacific Public Affairs as a principal. Yang was responsible for policy development, external and government relations, communications, special projects and staff administration. Rachel Smith will be chief of staff as well as direct strategic initiatives, and coordinate external and internal policy. She was director of government relations in the Executive's Office.

Pacific NorthWest Economic Region

Sen. Arnie Roblan (D-Coos Bay) is the new president of Pacific NorthWest Economic Region, a bi-national advocate for regional, state and territorial economic issues across the region. PNWER is a public-private partnership chartered by Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, as well as the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan, and Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

Jeffrey Bird was elected to a third three-year term on the National Association of Corporate Directors Northwest Chapter Board of Directors, where he serves as vice president-Portland and chairman of the Portland Advisory Board. NACD is a national organization focused on helping corporate board members navigate challenges and enhance shareholder value.

Great Wine

Bellevue-based Great Wine will open a tasting room in Bellevue to work with clients on their wine taste and preferences. The CEO of Great Wine is Danni Lin, who was previously a data scientist at Microsoft. The address is 958 111th Ave. N.E., Suite 103, inside the Elements building.

City of Bremerton

The city of Bremerton hired Jack Edwards as economic development manager. He was general manager at Baymont Inn & Suites Bremerton, and has worked in the motorsports industry and public relations. Edwards is vice chair for Bremerton Chamber of Commerce.

Skylight Capital

The private equity firm Skylight Capital said it has made its first foray into the Pacific Northwest market with an investment in Seattle area roofing contractor Guardian Roofing. Skyline was founded by Seattle resident Collin Hathaway, and is a micro-cap private equity firm focused on small- and mid-sized businesses. Previous investments include: Abacus Plumbing, Heating and Electrical in Houston; and Berkeys Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical in Southlake, Texas. Guardian recently acquired Jorve Roofing.
