She provides tax planning and compliance services to high net worth individuals, family groups and closely held businesses.

Winfield has 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and was global sales director for Benchmark Hospitality International. She also has worked for MTM Luxury Lodging in Kirkland, Willows Lodge in Woodinville and The Edgewater in Seattle.

Seattle-based energy advisory firm EMI Consulting hired Julie Rey as president. Rey was most recently vice president and market lead for global management consulting firm North Highland Consulting. She has held management roles at Strong-Bridge Consulting, Safeco Insurance and Western Wireless. “The nation's energy future is in the middle of a radical shift driven by unprecedented technological innovation, global climate change, and geopolitical uncertainty. We see this as a perfect opportunity for the expansion of our clean energy ‘Utility of the Future' consulting initiatives. Seattle Chamber of Commerce

The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce selected former Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland as president and CEO of the regional business association. Prior to being mayor, Strickland served on the Tacoma City Council and held management positions with the American Cancer Society, Starbucks and JayRay Communications. She also was vice-chair of the Sound Transit board. Strickland takes over on Feb. 19 for Maud Daudon, who is stepping down from leading the association.

Michelle Mares joined startup Glowforge as head of marketing. Mares was director of marketing at Nordstrom Rack and spent eight years in the video game industry prior to that. Seattle-based Glowforge makes 3-D laser printers that cut and etch various materials.

Greenthal

Peter Greenthal is the new CEO and president of Raisbeck Engineering in Seattle. Greenthal previously held leadership roles at industrial companies in California. Raisbeck modifies business and commercial aircraft. It is part of Acorn Growth Companies, a private equity firm investing exclusively in aerospace and defense.

University of Washington

Dave Zeeck is replacing Herb Simon on the University of Washington Board of Regents. Zeeck is president and publisher of The News Tribune in Tacoma, as well as The Olympian and The Bellingham Herald. He also is chair of the advisory board for UW Tacoma and a member of the Executive Council for a Greater Tacoma. Simon was on the board for 12 years.
