Pierce County

Judith C. Archer was named Pierce County human resources director. Archer was director of human resources for nearly eight years at Texas-based energy infrastructure company Kinder Morgan. She also held positions at Tacoma Goodwill, Pioneer Industries in Seattle and Toray Composites in Tacoma.

WSU

Washington State University named Naidu Rayapati director of the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center in Prosser, and assistant dean for the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences at WSU Tri-Cities. Rayapati studies virus diseases in crops, with an emphasis on wine grapes. He takes over at the extension center for Gary Grove, who remains director of WSU's AgWeatherNet.

Intel

Dhruvik Parikh of Bothell won the Intel Foundation Young Scientist Award and $50,000 at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh. Parikh developed better ion-exchange membranes for industrial-scale batteries. Intel says the fair is the world's largest international pre-college science competition, involving 1,800 young scientists from 81 countries.

Uwajimaya

Asian grocer Uwajimaya hired Stephen Keller as vice president of finance and Stephanie Steiner as vice president of sales and marketing. Northwest chef and restaurateur Tom Douglas joined the board. Keller has held finance roles at technology, manufacturing and apparel companies, including Eddie Bauer. Steiner comes from Unified Grocers/SuperValu, where she was director of sales and marketing.

Washington Poison Center

Jennifer Monteleone was hired as director of development and marketing at Washington Poison Center in Seattle. Monteleone has more than 25 years of experience supporting nonprofits and small businesses. She was director and owner of Monteleone & Associates Public Relations, and director of public relations and planning for Stevens Healthcare.

Seattle Genetics

Bothell-based Seattle Genetics appointed Dr. Roger D. Dansey as chief medical officer. Dansey has experience developing cancer drugs, most recently at Merck where he was therapeutic area head for late stage oncology, working to register Keytruda for multiple tumor types. He succeeds Dr. Jonathan Drachman, who remains as strategic advisor for innovation.

Zoom+Care

Portland-based Zoom+Care will open its 10th Seattle area clinic later this year in Redmond at 16175 Cleveland St., Suite 103. Zoom+Care provides retail and digital health care, with 36 clinics in Portland and Seattle.

Corps of Engineers

DiCiro

Col. Torrey A. DiCiro is the new commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Northwestern Division, which has operations in Portland, Seattle and Walla Walla, as well as Kansas City and Omaha. DiCiro was deputy commander of the Northwestern Division since July 2015. He succeeds Maj. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, who served as commander since July 2015.

Seattle Children's Theatre

Malgesini

Seattle Children's Theatre appointed Kevin Malgesini managing director. Malgesini replaces Karen Sharp, who recently resigned after 19 years with the theater. Malgesini spent five years at Town Hall Seattle, most recently as advancement director, and was board president of Intiman Theatre.

NASBA

Tish

Seattle CPA Laurie J. Tish was appointed vice board chair of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. Tish has been involved with NASBA since 2003 and is on the awards committee. She is a partner with Moss Adams and serves as the national practice leader for government services.
