Cresset Wealth Advisors

Chicago-based Cresset Wealth Advisors opened an office in Seattle led by former J.P. Morgan Private Bank employees Paul Meyer, Jaimi Dennehy and Chris Kalafatis. Each is a partner and managing director in the new office. At J.P. Morgan, Meyer was senior banker and executive director, Dennehy was investor and Kalafatis was executive director. They have served wealthy families, institutions and executives.

Kindering

Dr. Lisa Greenwald is the new CEO of Kindering, one of the nation's largest neurodevelopmental centers serving special-needs children. Greenwald has been with Kindering for 17 years, most recently as chief program officer. She replaces Mimi Siegel, who lead the organization for 40 years. Kindering has campuses in Bellevue, Bothell and Renton.

Have a Heart

Seattle-based cannabis retailer Have a Heart opened its first store in California, in the city of Coalinga. Have a Heart has five stores in Washington and others in Hawaii, Oregon, California, Iowa and Ohio. It has 18 applications pending for additional stores and has another 10 sites under negotiation with potential partners.

Woodland Park Zoo

In Seattle, Woodland Park Zoo will create a volunteer program to help people with disabilities visit the zoo. The program is funded by a $212,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The zoo will work with local organizations to train zoo staff and volunteers.

Chef

Chef, a Seattle-based continuous automation software company, appointed Evan Fein as CFO, Katie Long as vice president of legal and Jenny Armstrong-Owen as vice president of people. Fein has more than 25 years of financial management experience, most recently as CFO at Impinj. Long has more than 12 years of legal experience, working in-house for emerging companies, long-established private companies and publicly traded international organizations. Armstrong-Owen has more than 25 years of HR experience, most recently as vice president of people, environment and culture at Impinj.

Raisbeck Engineering

Lynn Thomas is the new president of Raisbeck Engineering in Seattle. Thomas joined Raisbeck last year as vice president of sales and marketing. He has 35 years of business experience and is a pilot. Raisbeck modifies business and commercial aircraft. It is part of Acorn Growth Companies, a private equity firm investing in aerospace and defense.

Clark Nuber

Rob Fleming of Clark Nuber won the Community Leadership Award from Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. Fleming founded Clark Nuber's Not-for-Profit Services Group and has served on several nonprofit boards. The award is given for lifelong civic and community service.

Hammitt

Attorneys Jennifer Hammitt and Molly Barker joined Marten Law, which specializes in energy and environmental law. Hammitt was chief eDiscovery counsel for the EPA in Washington, D.C., where she worked on some of the largest environmental cases in the country. She is a senior associate in Marten's Portland office. Barker practices in environmental, real estate and land-use law, and was an associate at Veris Law Group in Seattle. She is an associate in Marten's Seattle office.

Valor Worldwide

West Coast Publishing founder Ken Marsh and digital media pioneer Jeff Lanctot launched Valor Worldwide, a data and media company in Lakewood. Its first venture is OurMilitary.com, a website dedicated to veterans and the military community. Marsh is president and Lanctot is CEO of Valor. Marsh has spent more than 30 years as an advocate of veteran causes. Lanctot was general manager, chief media officer and strategy lead for digital advertising company aQuantive before its 2007 acquisition by Microsoft. He was managing director of Microsoft's Advertiser and Publisher Solutions Group.

Moz

Seattle-based Moz, a search engine optimizer, bought Vancouver, B.C.-based Stat Search Analytics, which tracks keyword ranks and search engine result pages (SERP). Moz plans to expand the Stat office in Vancouver. Stat CEO Rob Bucci will become vice president of research and development at Moz.

Value-Based Care Solutions Group

Value-Based Care Solutions Group changed its name to Virence Health Technologies. Veritas Capital recently bought the company from GE Healthcare. Virence provides software for health care providers to manage financial, clinical and human capital workflows.

Association of Zoos & Aquariums

Three Northwest zoos and aquariums won 2018 Education Awards from the Association of Zoos & Aquariums for their collaborative Fostering Empathy for Animals project. The winners are Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Seattle Aquarium and Woodland Park Zoo.
