Port of Seattle

The Port of Seattle hired Katie Gerard as senior director of human resources. Gerard has a 20-plus-year career in public service and most recently headed the HR department of Thurston County. She joins the port at the end of the month.

Department of Revenue

The state Department of Revenue appointed Kara Briggs as tribal liaison. Briggs was a strategist, planner and communications consultant for tribes across the West. She also was a consultant to the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, and a journalist for The Spokesman-Review and Oregonian newspapers.

Echodyne

Kirkland-based Echodyne, a manufacturer of radar sensors, added Paul Farmer as CFO. Farmer has 30 years of financial and operational leadership experience.

Lighter Capital

In Seattle, Lighter Capital hired Anthea Louie as chief marketing officer. Louie was vice president of digital business and marketing for DigiCert, and also worked at SAP, Yahoo, Disney Store and Epson. Lighter Capital provides early-stage financing to tech companies.

Sound Community Bank

Laurie Stewart, president and CEO of Sound Community Bank, advanced from vice chair to chair-elect of the American Bankers Association. This is the second year of a three-year term where Stewart will become board chair in 2019. She has been with Seattle-based Sound Community Bank for 29 years.

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, a 347-room hotel in Renton's Southport development, appointed Pina Purpero as general manager and Jennifer Grosclaude as director of sales, marketing and events. Purpero was general manager of Hyatt's The Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia, where she oversaw a multi-million-dollar renovation. She has been with Hyatt for over 20 years. Grosclaude was director of events at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington. She has more than 20 years of experience, including 15 years with Hyatt.

RealWear

Michael Guerchon joined Vancouver-based RealWear as vice president of human resources. Guerchon has 25 years of HR experience, with stints at Riverbed Technology, Okta, Guess, Puppet, Hollywood Entertainment and Ikon Office Solutions. RealWear makes wearable computing devices for light and heavy industry that are voice-driven and head-mounted.

Banner Bank

Walla Walla-based Banner Bank named Kenneth W. Johnson executive vice president of operations and a member of the executive management committee. Johnson joined Banner through the Skagit Bank acquisition, which was completed Nov. 1. He was Skagit Bank's president and COO and has more than 30 years of banking experience.

Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson

Seattle law firm Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson hired Eric C. Reutter as an attorney in the Estate Planning Trusts & Probate group. Reutter specializes in estate planning, trust and probate administration, and operation and formation of businesses.

Marchex

Seattle-based mobile advertising analytics company Marchex paid about $13 million for Telmetrics, a Canadian call and text tracking company.
