Jody Miller Ferguson rejoined Pierce County as director of the Emergency Management department. Ferguson was deputy/interim director of King County's Office of Emergency Management. Earlier in her career, she served 12 years in the Pierce County Emergency Management department, where she became interim director. Ferguson starts Feb. 19, subject to county council confirmation.
Sheida Sahandy will step down May 3 as executive director of Puget Sound Partnership. Sahandy was appointed five years ago by Gov. Jay Inslee. The Olympia-based agency leads collective efforts to restore and protect Puget Sound.
Seattle-based CPA firm Watson & McDonell is now part of CliftonLarsonAllen. Watson & McDonell provided audit and tax services to small and medium-sized businesses for over 30 years, with a focus on nonprofits and affordable housing providers. Managing partner Lillian McDonell and 14 Watson & McDonell coworkers joined CLA, which has 120 offices in the U.S.
The Riveter — a Seattle-based coworking and community network focused on women — is expanding into six cities by mid-year: Dallas, Denver, Portland, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Atlanta and Austin, Texas. The company, which recently received $15 million in funding, and will have 11 spaces in eight cities following the expansion, with more to come. Amy Nelson is founder and CEO.

Better Business Bureau Northwest + Pacific hired former KOMO TV investigative journalist Tracy Vedder as communications director. Vedder is based in Boise, and oversees media relations and outreach across the Pacific Northwest. She also operates a small horse ranch in Boise with her husband.
Carrie McCausland is the new public affairs director at the state Department of Fish & Wildlife. McCausland was deputy communications director at the state Department of Natural Resources, and was a communications specialist with the city of Tacoma prior to that.
Nato Thompson will return as artistic director for Seattle Art Fair, which will be held in August at CenturyLink Field Event Center. Thompson last year curated a range of projects, performances and installations for the fair. He is artistic director at Philadelphia Contemporary and created Philadelphia's Festival for the People. Seattle Art Fair was founded in 2015 by Paul Allen, and is produced by Vulcan Arts + Entertainment and Art Market Productions.
The Office of the Washington State Auditor has a new website: http://www.sao.wa.gov. It was redesigned based on feedback from hundreds of people in local and state government who do business with the auditor.
