Oak View Group/NHL Seattle

Oak View Group and Seattle Hockey Partners (NHL Seattle) appointed Hewan Teshome as senior vice president and general counsel to the team at the new Seattle Center arena. The companies also hired Kevin Melsby as director of arena operations, Denise Russell as director of finance and Jessica Sloate as office manager and executive assistant. Teshome was vice president and general counsel for three years at Vicis, a Seattle-based company that engineers protective sports headgear. Melsby and Russell come from Olympia Entertainment, where Melsby was director of event operations and Russell was director of finance, both at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. NHL Seattle's inaugural season begins next year.

Buchalter

Los Angeles-based Buchalter added four attorneys to its Seattle office: Harold E. Snow Jr., John B. Crosetto, Scott G. Warner and Paul M. Barba. All come from Foster Garvey PC. Snow is a shareholder and a member of Buchalter's corporate practice, as well as the tax, benefits and estate planning practice. He has over 40 years of experience, including an extensive estate planning background. Crosetto is a member of the intellectual property and litigation practice groups. He represents clients in matters involving trademark, trade secret, trade dress, false advertising and unfair competition. Warner also is working in the intellectual property practice. He helps start-ups, nonprofits and public companies register, protect or sell their intellectual property. Barba is a member of the tax, benefits and estate planning practice. He focuses on international tax, cross‐border investments and reorganizations, trusts, estate planning, expatriations and IRS disputes.

PointCentral

Portland-based PointCentral bought Doorport of New York City. PointCentral, an Alarm.com company, has a cellphone-based platform that monitors and controls rental properties. Doorport developed a smartphone app that interacts with intercoms to let residents, managers and visitors unlock building entrances. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

T-Mobile

Bellevue-based T-Mobile teamed with iHeartMedia, Verizon and AT&T to donate nearly 40,000 phone chargers to hospitals nationwide so that isolated COVID-19 patients can stay connected to family. The group has already supplied 20,000 chargers to hospitals in Seattle, New York City, Los Angeles, New Orleans and San Diego.

Skagit County

Dr. Connie Davis is the newest member of the Skagit County Board of Health. Davis has over 30 years of health care experience and joined Skagit Regional Health in 2012 as chief medical officer. Prior to that, she was director of the Kidney Care Line and co-director of the Kidney & Pancreas Transplant program at the University of Washington. The health board convenes quarterly to discuss health issues of concern to Skagit County.

Kount

Boise, Idaho-based Kount hired Vikram Dhawan as vice president of product. Dhawan was senior director of product management for fraud and identity solutions at LexisNexis. He has 15 years of experience in the fraud and risk management industry. Kount provides identity trust and fraud prevention products and solutions.

Thurston EDC

The state Department of Commerce and the Thurston Economic Development Council are offering a new version of the EDC's ScaleUp program aimed at helping small business owners move through the COVID-19 crisis. The free program provides up to 100 owners with virtual classroom training, connection to a peer network, and access to resources and mentors. Daryl Murrow teaches the online course, which is based on Kauffman Family Foundation's curriculum. Applications are being accepted at http://bit.ly/wa-scaleup and online training runs May 6-July 8.

Amazon

Seattle-based Amazon reached a multi-year agreement with the National Football League to renew their partnership to livestream 11 Thursday Night Football games on Amazon Prime Video and Twitch. The games will also be broadcast on FOX television and run on cable through the NFL Network. Additionally, Amazon will globally stream one Saturday game in the second half of the 2020 season that will only be televised in the two teams' home markets.

Summit Bank

Eugene, Oregon-based Summit Bank is offering $5 million in stock at $10 per share. The offering is open for 30 days to new and existing shareholders, with a minimum investment of $25,000 and maximum of $1 million. The bank says the new capital is needed to strengthen its balance sheet in relation to significant growth in Paycheck Protection Program loans associated with the coronavirus pandemic, as well as projected growth in conventional loans. Summit specializes in loans to professionals and medium-sized businesses. It has offices in Eugene, Portland and central Oregon.
