Vioguard

Bothell-based Vioguard hired Brian Mitchell as vice president of sales, where he will support the company's fight against contagions using ultraviolet light as a disinfectant. Mitchell has over two decades of experience in the mobility, enterprise, retail and consumer goods industries. He previously was senior growth director of client services at Asurion and national sales director at LG Electronics Mobilecomm USA. Vioguard makes ultraviolet systems for sanitizing keyboards, mice and small devices.

Smartsheet

Bellevue's Smartsheet is acquiring Denver-based Brandfolder for $155 million in a combination of cash and stock. Brandfolder provides a centralized platform to organize, discover, control, distribute and measure digital content. With Brandfolder, Smartsheet customers will be able to manage, track and discover all content within their workflows. Smartsheet is a cloud-based platform for work execution. The acquisition is expected to close in September.

Comcast Business

Comcast Business is partnering with the city of Sumner to increase bandwidth and high-performance connectivity to support the municipality's remote work plan. Following a transition to a remote workforce as the COVID-19 outbreak worsened, the city did not have the capacity to support voice calls and upload speed requirements with the majority of employees on VPN connections from home. Following the upgrade, the city plans to install a fiber connection to city hall.

Navex Global

Research firm Gartner recognized Navex Global as a leader in its 2020 Magic Quadrant for IT Risk Management report. Navex has made the report every year since the report's inception in 2015. The report evaluates technology companies on the ability to execute and completeness of vision. Navex is a risk and compliance software and services company based in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Liberty Bank named Alan Fulp as president and chief lending officer, putting him in charge of the bank's new Bellevue office. Fulp has nearly 30 years of financial services experience, most recently as managing director of private banking for the Ascent division of U.S. Bank. Other new staff in Bellevue are Aleecia Poulsen, treasury management officer and customer service manager; Christina Beason, vice president and senior relationship manager; and Tony Vounn, senior credit analyst. Poulsen has worked for numerous community banks in the Pacific Northwest. Beason has over 20 years of experience in business management and commercial banking, previously working at Foundation Bank and Columbia Bank. Vounn specializes in commercial and industrial loans, commercial real estate and consumer lending. He previously worked at The Commerce Bank, Seattle Bank and Core Business Bank. Poulsbo-based Liberty is a customer-centric community bank.

The Fearey Group

Seattle-based communications firm The Fearey Group added two senior-level staff members: account supervisor Nicole (Nikki) Arnone and senior account executive Maya Dartiguenave. Arnone is a media relations specialist leading strategic communications for Fearey's health care, real estate and business clients. Dartiguenave's role includes content creation and social media strategy for a variety of clients. Fearey provides strategic communications, with specialties in issues and crisis management, public affairs, public relations and digital marketing.

BECU

BECU hired Sarah Nuanes as branch manager of its first neighborhood financial center (NFC) in Bellingham. Nuanes has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, and is overseeing the NFC's operations while recruiting members and coaching, training and developing a newly formed BECU team. Nuanes previously was a retail branch manager at KeyBank, where she managed sales of bank products, developed relationships with local businesses and led a team of personal bankers.

Daiya Healthcare

In Bellevue, Daiya Healthcare named Michelle Thompson as chief strategy officer. Thompson has over 25 years of experience in the senior-living and post-acute care markets. She previously was corporate director of sales and marketing for Regency Pacific Management, supporting over 40 senior communities across five states. Daiya is a physician-owned, multi-specialty post-acute and long-term care medical group.

Chinook Therapeutics

Chinook Therapeutics announced $106 million in private placement financing from a number of new investors. As part of the financing, Chinook's existing investors — Versant Ventures, Apple Tree Partners and Samsara BioCapital — will purchase $25 million in Chinook common stock on the same terms as the new investors. The deal is expected to occur prior to the closing of the previously announced merger between Chinook and Aduro Biotech of Berkeley, California. Chinook is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing medicines for kidney diseases. It has offices in Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle.

Kymeta

Redmond-based mobile communications network company Kymeta acquired satellite communication services provider Lepton Global Solutions. Kymeta says the acquisition allows it to pursue key opportunities with U.S. defense and government customers. Lepton is based in Vienna, Virginia. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ZoomInfo

Vancouver-based ZoomInfo priced an offering of 14.94 million shares of common stock at $37 per share. The offering is expected to close on Monday. The stock is from equity holders in the company, including investment funds affiliated with TA Associates, The Carlyle Group and 22C Capital LLC. ZoomInfo is not selling any of its shares and will not receive any proceeds from the deal. The company sells access to its database of business people and companies to sales, marketing and recruiting professionals.
