The Partners Group, a Northwest-based insurance and financial consulting firm, announced it has hired Shelli Stayner and Denise Collins to expand its service area into Idaho. Stayner and Collins will open and manage the new Boise office for The Partners Group. Stayner spent 19 years at Mercer, most recently as the principal and office business leader of the Boise office, as well as senior consultant for large complex clients. Collins spent 21 years at Mercer, where she served as senior client manager.
Airport and civil engineering consulting firm, HNTB named Omo Esemuede aviation manager at its Bellevue office. Esemuede previously worked on the JFK International Airport redevelopment program, and has worked on airport projects around the world. HNTB is based in Kansas City.
The Institute of Real Estate Management Western Washington and the IREM Foundation have partnered raise money to help those in need in the local community. They have identified three organizations to receive donations: DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center); All In Seattle, which collects and distributes resources for food security, communities and workers, small businesses, housing and rental assistance, and families & children affected by COVID-19; and New Beginnings, a local group assisting victims of domestic abuse through housing assistance, legal advocacy and mental health/counseling services. To contribute to the relief fund go to irem.org/giving/western-washington. The IREM Foundation will Match up to $1,000 of local funds raised to support local social service agencies.
Comcast Business announced that eight black-owned small businesses in Portland were recipients of Comcast RISE awards. The awards will allow these businesses to receive consulting, media and creative production services from Effectv, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, or technology upgrades from Comcast Business based on their specific needs. The eight awardees are Zen Nail Spa, American Heroes Café, Amalfi's Restaurant, Raap Counseling and Consulting, Cottontails Personal Styling, Batter On Deck food truck, Meals for Heels, and Third Eye Books. The next phase of Comcast RISE, a multi-year, multi-faceted initiative launched in October to help strengthen small businesses hard hit by COVID-19, opens eligibility to include Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)-owned, small businesses. Ripl has been named one of Seattle Business magazine's “100 Best Companies To Work For in 2020” in the small company category. Seattle-based Ripl provides an app that allows small businesses to utilize social media marketing tools without the need of staff or the associated expense.
The Columbia Basin Development League elected new officers for its Board of Trustees for 2021. Current vice chair Matt Harris will serve as chairman, with Dale Pomeroy as vice chair, Clark Kagele returning as secretary, and Orman Johnson returning as treasurer. Current chairman Mark Stedman will serve as past chair. Besides its officers, the Board chose its executive committee for 2021, which is comprised of officers plus four at-large positions. The at-large members are Bill Wagoner, Rich Burres and Kevin Lyle. A fourth position will be filled in January. The League represents the interests of stakeholders in the Columbia Basin, and advocates for continued development and support of the Columbia Basin Project, the largest reclamation project in the United States.
Sponsors of the 2021 Seattle-King County First Citizen Award, which honors individuals, families and organizations who have enhanced the quality of life for King County residents, are seeking nominations for the 83rd recipient. Letters of nomination for the 2021 First Citizen, together with any supporting material, should be sent by December 7 to the First Citizen Selection Committee, c/o Seattle King County REALTORS, 12410 SE 32nd St., Suite 100, Bellevue, Washington 98005 or submitted by email to Darla White, dwhite@nwrealtor.com. Nominees should be current or former residents of King County. Earlier this year, businessman Tomio Moriguchi, retired chairman and CEO of family-owned Uwajimaya, and the Moriguchi family were selected as the 82nd Seattle-King County First Citizens.

The Columbia Basin Development League appointed Othello City Council member Jon Erickson to a seat in its Board of Trustees, replacing Stephen McFadden. Erickson will fulfill the remainder of McFadden's term, which would have expired at the end of 2021. McFadden, economic development director for Adams County, recently resigned from the board. The League represents the interests of stakeholders in the Columbia Basin, and advocates at the city, county, state and federal levels for continued development and support of the Columbia Basin Project, the largest reclamation project in the United States. The Columbia Basin Project provides irrigation water to more than 671,000 acres of land across eastern and central Washington
Washington Trust Bank hired Matt Tilghman-Havens as senior vice president and market leader for wealth management and advisory services. Tilghman-Havens joins Washington Trust Bank from U.S. Bank, where he was senior vice president of private wealth management in Western Washington and a senior wealth planner. He previously worked as an attorney at Miller Nash Graham & Dunn and as an assistant attorney general for the Attorney General's Office of Washington state. Washington Trust Bank is the largest independently owned full-service commercial bank in the Northwest, serving the region since 1902.
SouthernCarlson announced its acquisition of Seattle-based Manor Hardware. The addition strengthens SouthernCarlson's multi-family supply and service capabilities and expands its footprint into the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1975, Manor has evolved from a general hardware supply store into a full-service construction supply and tool repair operation specializing in the sale of construction supplies, tools and related services with locations in Everett, Tacoma and Lynnwood. SouthernCarlson is a subsidiary of Kyocera and is a national distributor of construction fasteners, tools, packaging and facility supplies.
