Qumulo

Seattle-based Qumulo announced that CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Gregg Machon, vice president of worldwide channels and OEMs for Qumulo, a Top Channel Chief for 2021. The annual list recognizes top IT channel leaders who continually demonstrate leadership, influence, innovation and growth for the IT channel. This is the third consecutive year Machon has been named to the CRN Channel Chiefs list. CRN's 2021 Channel Chiefs list will be featured in the February 2021 issue of CRN Magazine and online at http://www.CRN.com/ChannelChiefs.

Tanium

Matt Thompson has joined Tanium's Board of Directors as an independent director. Thompson was most recently the executive vice president of worldwide field operations at Adobe, overseeing global sales, partnerships, ecommerce, consulting and services, and customer success operations. Tanium also recently appointed Mark Fields, former CEO of Ford Motor Company, and David Rowland, executive chairman of Accenture, to its Board of Directors. Tanium has been named to the Forbes Cloud 100 list of Top 100 Private Companies in Cloud Computing for five consecutive years and ranks 4th on FORTUNE's list of the Best Workplaces in Technology 2020.

JND Legal Administration

JND Legal Administration, a legal management and administration services provider serving plaintiff and defendant firms, corporations, and government entities, has again been recognized for excellence in claims administration by readers of the New York Law Journal. Having been named a Best Claims Administrator for three consecutive years, JND has been admitted to the Journal's ‘Best of 2020' Hall of Fame. Readers of the Journal ranked JND as the #1 Claims Administrator in both 2018 and 2019. JND was Founded in 2016 and has offices in Washington, California, Minnesota, New York and Washington, D.C.

T-Mobile

This Black History Month, Bellevue-based T-Mobile is introducing three programs with the goal of helping create more opportunities for Black communities across the nation. The initiatives — Magenta Scholars, the NextTech Diversity Program and Magenta Edge — will provide resources and support to Black students, tech workers and business owners. T-Mobile's Magenta Scholars program will donate $500,000 to create 18 scholarships for students attending historically Black colleges and universities. The program is a partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. The application period opens Feb. 18 and scholarships will be awarded in the fall of 2021. Over the next five years the NextTech Diversity Program aims to provide career training and placement for candidates to take on roles as 5G network technicians. Telecom trade school The Learning Alliance will oversee recruitment, training, certification and job placement of candidates. Magenta Edge offers advice and insight and provides free educational programming on subjects such as best practices for entrepreneurs while addressing systemic barriers to Black small-business success.

Summit Bank

Craig Wanichek, president and chief executive officer of Summit Bank announced that Gina Kaveny has joined the Portland banking team as vice president and market development officer. A native Oregonian, Kaveny and her husband own a small business employing over 50 employees, She serves as a board member and Programs Committee chair for the Association of Corporate Growth in Portland. Summit Bank has offices in Eugene/Springfield, Central Oregon, and Portland. Summit was recognized in 2020 as the Top Small Business Administration Community Bank Lender in the State of Oregon.

Porch Group

Porch Group announced an expansion of their leadership team, including Adam Kornick as president of Insurtech, Andrew Beck as head of Contractor Tools SaaS, Malcolm Conner leading Porch's Home Services group, and Manisha Patel as vice president of finance. Kornick previously led data and technology functions as the chief data technologist at Allstate and was the chief analytics officer at Aviva. Beck served as general manager at EverCommerce where he built a division of home and field services SaaS solutions and supported M&A integrations. Connor served as chief executive officer at NanoSmart Technologies and its subsidiary, NanoSmart Lights. Patel served as the vice president of finance and M&A/Strategy at APR Energy. On December 23, 2020, Porch merged with PropTech Acquisition. On January 14, 2021, Porch announced the strategic acquisitions of V12, PalmTech and iRoofing, as well as its expansion into Insurtech with the acquisition of Homeowners of America, which is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021. Seattle-based Porch Group provides software and services to home services companies such as home inspectors, moving companies, real estate agencies, utility companies, and warranty companies.

Oksenholt Capital

Oksenholt Capital hired Annie Robertson as chief legal officer & director of public affairs. Robertson will be responsible for overseeing and providing leadership and strategic direction, as well as the management of legal affairs, public policy, charitable giving, and long-term business planning. Robertson most recently served as a partner at the Wenatchee-based law firm of Jeffers, Danielson, Sonn & Aylward. Previously, she was a partner in the Portland office of Lane Powell, where she worked for ten years. Oksenholt Capital specializes in real estate acquisition, development, and management with a focus on income producing multi-family properties.

Northwest Seaport Alliance

The Northwest Seaport Alliance, a marine cargo operating partnership between the Port of Seattle and Port of Tacoma, named Dick Marzano and Fred Felleman as new co-chairs for 2021. The Northwest Seaport Alliance is overseen by a board of managing members which include the elected commissioners from the north and south harbors. Marzano recently retired after 52 years as a Tacoma longshore worker, serving as president of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 23 for six years. Felleman was elected to the Seattle Port Commission in 2015. He serves on the Board of Maritime Blue and the Puget Sound Regional Council's Executive Board.

Alaska Communications

Alaska Communications expanded broadband service by more than 3,700 locations in underserved areas of Alaska during 2020. The expansion was funded in part through the Federal Communications Commission Connect America Fund Phase II program. Once complete, the project will be the single largest deployment of affordable broadband under any one program in Alaska. Alaska Communications provides advanced broadband and managed IT services for businesses and consumers in Alaska.

Evolution Advisors

Global insurance broker Acrisure announced the formation of Evolution Advisors, a new joint venture to focus on the insurance needs of minority-owned businesses and diverse communities across the United States. Russell Wilson and his wife, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, Ciara, are founding partners and equity owners in the joint venture and will help guide the business and its community impact strategies. The joint venture will focus on providing greater access and more effectively distributing insurance products to minority-owned enterprises. Additionally, the joint venture will also seek to make a specific impact through community-focused efforts, building on Wilson and Ciara's work through their Why Not You Foundation, and Acrisure's focus on children's health.

Pop-Up Dining

Seattle-based Columbia Hospitality announced the inaugural Puffy Jacket Pop-Up Dining Series, a limited-time, outdoor dining experience to be held at 14 hotels, resorts and restaurants throughout Washington and Oregon. This six-week program will be held at The Dining Room at Salish Lodge & Spa, Packers Kitchen + Bar at Semiahmoo Resort, Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook, Ben Paris at The State Hotel, Hearth at The Heathman Hotel, Waterleaf Restaurant & Bar at Hotel Interurban, Jetty Bar & Grille at Hotel Indigo, JJ Hills Fresh Grill at Icicle Village, The Restaurant at Friday Harbor House, Strikers' Bar & Grille at Echo Falls Golf Club, The Clubhouse Restaurant & Bar at McCormick Woods Golf Club, The Wayfarer Restaurant & Lounge and Public Coast Brewing. The Puffy Jacket Pop-Up menus will be available every Friday and Saturday from Feb. 19 through March 27. All participating properties will adhere to Columbia Clean, a set of health, hygiene and sanitation standards, and will offer outdoor seating and extra touches, including heat lamps, blankets and fire pits.
