Duong

Ankrom Moisan, a firm specializing in integrated architectural, interior design, planning, and brand, has hired Hao Duong as a healthcare principal. Duong will be amplifying the business development strategy and overseeing project delivery for AM's healthcare sector in Washington and Oregon. Duong's recent projects included supporting the work of Odessa Brown Children's Clinic, Neighborcare, and Grady Health System in revealing how the built environment can support their efforts to eliminate health disparities through education and social justice. He has worked with clients of varying scales including New York University, Nationwide Children's, University of Washington, Virginia Mason, UCSF, and Seattle Children's. Duong received a B.S. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Ankrom Moisan was founded in 1983, and today has offices in Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco.

Symetra celebrated the opening of Climate Pledge Arena at Seattle Center with the installation of a commissioned artwork. Symetra SVP Trinity Parker joined Seattle artist Aramis O. Hamer to debut the 6- by 9-foot acrylic on canvas painting in the arena's 11,000 square foot Symetra Club event space. Symetra is the first founding partner of the Climate Pledge Arena and the Seattle Kraken, the NHL's newest franchise. Home to the Kraken and the WNBA Seattle Storm, also a Symetra partner, the Climate Pledge Arena is the first net zero certified arena in the world. Hamer is a self-taught visual artist and muralist whose subject matter is inspired by the cosmos, music, nature, divine femininity, and the complexities throughout the Black culture. Those themes are reflected in the Symetra Club piece, with visual references to its Pacific Northwest setting, the Kraken's tentacles, and Symetra's vision. Symetra Life Insurance is a subsidiary of Symetra Financial Corporation, a diversified financial services company based in Bellevue.

Nautilus, a leader in personalized connected home fitness, announced that Kelley Hall, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), and Shailesh Prakash, chief information officer and vice president of digital product development at The Washington Post have been appointed to its board of directors. Hall brings expertise leading financial strategy and managing omnichannel ecosystems at several leading companies, including REI, the nation's largest consumer co-operative. Prakash adds engineering and digital strategy experience and has led multiple digital growth transformations, including transitioning to and leveraging subscription business models. Prior to REI, Hall was senior vice president, chief accounting officer and treasurer for Nordstrom. Kelley also spent nine years at NIKE, and was with Starbucks Corporation from 1994 to 2008 in a variety of finance leadership roles. Prakash began his career as a software engineer with several technology companies, including Sun Microsystems and Netscape, and Microsoft where he was a key member of the Bing search engine. Nautilus is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington.

MoxiWorks

Seattle-based MoxiWorks, a real estate technology platform, announced they have acquired reeazily, an enterprise back-office solution that helps manage real estate transactions across the entire real estate organization. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Now, on its fourth generation, reeazily includes a complete brokerage back-office solution, broker.ez, which integrates QuickBooks Online for accounting. Reeazily also integrates with DocuSign, SkySlope and Dotloop for transaction document management, all of which are existing partners in MoxiWorks' MoxiCloud Partner Program. The entire reeazily team will be joining MoxiWorks and will become Moxians, and reeazily CSO and co-founder Casey Reagan, will stay on board as MoxiWorks' director of product management for back-office solutions. MoxiWorks acquired marketing automation platform, Imprev in November of 2019 which has expanded MoxiWorks' marketing offering, MoxiImpress, powering agent marketing efforts though the complete automation of listing materials. York Baur is the CEO of MoxiWorks.

Betacom

Betacom, longtime design and deployment partner for telecommunication companies including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, announced that its private wireless solution 5G-as-a-Service has won a Mobile Breakthrough Award for 5G Innovation of the Year. Part of Tech Breakthrough, a market intelligence and recognition platform for global technology innovation and leadership, the Mobile Breakthrough Awards program is devoted to honoring excellence in mobile and wireless technology companies, products and people. Betacom 5G-as-a-Service is a fully managed private wireless service, enabling U.S. enterprises to have access to cost-effective, high-performance 5G networks. Betacom enterprise customers retain ownership of the network and local control of their data, with network management delivered via Betacom Security and Service Operations Center, a AI-driven NOC hosted on Microsoft Azure. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Bellevue, Betacom has offices across the United States.

McCutchen Group

CI Financial and McCutchen Group announced an agreement under which CI will acquire Seattle-based McCutchen Group, an ultra-high-net-worth focused wealth management firm. Founded in 2007, McCutchen Group provides comprehensive financial advisory services ranging from investment management to tax, charitable and estate planning, as well as family office services. Since entering the U.S. registered investment advisor sector in January 2020, CI has become one of the country's fastest-growing national wealth management platforms. The Asset & Wealth Management Investment Banking Group of Raymond James & Associates acted as financial advisor to McCutchen Group and Perkins Coie served as legal advisor. CI's legal advisor was Hogan Lovells US. This transaction is expected to close later this year, subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Avalara

Avalara, a provider of tax compliance automation software for businesses of all sizes, acquired CrowdReason, a developer of SaaS-based property tax compliance applications. CrowdReason's expertise will extend Avalara's capabilities in several key areas, including document management, tax content and property tax returns. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Avalara also acquired the assets of a valuation advisory services business from CorrelationAdvisors as part of the deal. Earlier this month, Avalara acquired Track1099, which automates the managing, filing and delivery of IRS forms. Headquartered in Seattle, Avalara has offices across the U.S. and around the world in Brazil, Europe and India.

Alaska Communications

Alaska Communications agreed to supply low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite service through OneWeb to Bristol Bay Telephone Cooperative. LEO satellites deliver fiber-like connectivity performance to areas that are difficult and expensive to reach via terrestrial options. The cooperative will initially use this service to connect its offices and facilities. In the future, it plans to extend it to residents in the region and augment its voice and mobile data network. Announced in June, OneWeb and Alaska Communications are collaborating to deliver a fiber-like connectivity experience everywhere in Alaska. Through the agreement, Alaska Communications will sell OneWeb's LEO satellite service to its customers and use it for critical middle mile connections. LEO service for Bristol Bay Telephone will begin in November. Alaska Communications, an affiliate of ATN International, provides advanced broadband and managed IT services for businesses and consumers in Alaska.

Smartsheet

Bellevue-based Smartsheet, an enterprise platform for dynamic work, unveiled new steps it is taking to strengthen its presence in the European Union and Germany to better serve its growing list of global customers. Smartsheet launched Smartsheet Regions, which gives global organizations more control over where they host their Smartsheet content, making it easier for customers to address regional compliance, privacy and governance requirements. Smartsheet Regions is now available in the EU and will support new accounts and work assets created there. Smartsheet Regions EU hosts customers' content in Frankfurt, Germany. More international regions will be added next year. Smartsheet also announced a new partnership with Bechtle, one of Europe's leading IT providers. Bechtle joins Smartsheet's growing partner community in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Other regional partners include AMX, Nanga Systems, ON-MC and Star Cooperation. To further support its growing customer and partner base in the region, Smartsheet is expanding its local team in Germany to bolster its existing international presence in London, Edinburgh and Sydney.
