Columbia Helicopters

Oregon-based Columbia Helicopters appointed David Balevic as president and CEO, effective immediately. Balevic will succeed Michael Tremlett, who is departing the company to pursue other opportunities. Columbia Helicopters manufactures, provides sustainment services for, and operates the Model 234, CH-47D Chinook, and Model 107-II tandem-rotor helicopters. The company's principal customers include the U.S. military, foreign allied militaries, U.S. and foreign civil protection agencies, and a broad range of commercial customers. Balevic brings more than 35 years of leadership experience across the aviation industry to Columbia. He previously spent eight years at CHC Helicopter, where he served as the senior vice president for engineering and operations before being promoted to president and CEO in August 2019. During his tenure, Balevic oversaw all aspects of the business, including aircraft flight operations, supply chain, and the global MRO services. Additionally, Balevic has over two decades of experience at GE in its Aircraft Engine, Power, and Oil & Gas business units.

Sundance Consulting

Sundance Consulting, a full-service environmental consulting firm, announced that it has joined Halle Capital-backed True Environmental, a platform focused on collaborating with founder and employee-owned environmental consulting and engineering firms to provide capital solutions to accelerate growth and facilitate ownership transitions. September Myres is the founder of Sundance and Mark Rigatt is the president of the Pocatello, Idaho-based firm. Founded in 2005, the Sundance team of more than 70 professionals have expertise in environmental assessments, natural and cultural resources, planning, compliance, and remediation serving federal, state, and local governments and agencies and commercial clients throughout the U.S. Halle Capital is a lower-middle market, growth-oriented private equity firm based in New York.

Bellevue-based Smartsheet, an enterprise work management platform, announced a series of changes to its executive team. Max Long was named to lead a newly unified and expanded Go-to-Market team composed of Worldwide Field Operations and Marketing. As president, GTM, Long will join the Smartsheet senior leadership team to enable and support the company's expanding global customer base throughout their entire lifecycle. Long joins Smartsheet as a tenured executive with over three decades of experience growing and scaling commercial teams for global technology firms including Microsoft, Adobe, and NetApp. After many years of engineering and product leadership at Smartsheet, Praerit Garg will assume the new title of president, product & innovation. He will accelerate business innovation and product execution and enable more effective marketing of Smartsheet solutions to customers, prospects, and partners. Mike Arntz, currently chief revenue officer, will retire on March 31st after seven and a half years with Smartsheet. Arntz will serve as an advisor to the company until mid-May to support Long in his transition. Andrew Bennett, chief marketing officer, closed out his almost ten-year tenure at Smartsheet on March 15th to pursue an opportunity outside of Smartsheet.

Port of Bremerton

The Port of Bremerton hired Cole Barnes as the airport manager for the Bremerton National Airport. Barnes will begin his new position on April 8th. Previously, he an airport operations specialist at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport. Barnes graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in aviation management and is currently working on his master's degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in aeronautics with a specialty in sustainability. Cole has a commercial pilot's license from the Big Bend Community College. With the addition of Cole, Bremerton National Airport will continue to facilitate a relationship with the FAA, and secure funds to make the necessary improvements to the airfield.

Jensen Investment Management

Jensen Investment Management, a 100% employee-owned active equity investment management firm, added Phil Bennett and Sarah Stevens as its newest employee shareholders. Bennett joined Jensen in July 2022 as director of institutional sales and client service, and has a track record in client services roles at asset management companies. He previously spent four years at Thornburg Investment Management where he served as regional director for Western United States and Canada. Before that he spent nearly five years at Mellon Capital. Stevens is a manager in the private client business. She joined Jensen in 2015 and has 20 years of experience in administrative support roles at law, engineering and financial firms. Additionally, Philomena Ferree and Sarah Doxsee are adding to their ownership positions in the firm. Philomena is a manager in the private client business, and Doxsee is a compliance officer. Jensen is headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Bellevue College Foundation

The Bellevue College Foundation recently raised nearly $400,000 at its annual gala. The Bellevue College Foundation is a nonprofit organization that manages grants, endowments, and gifts to aid Bellevue College in a variety of projects and scholarships, ensuring students from diverse backgrounds can achieve their academic goals. Dana Gray is the chair of the Bellevue College Foundation's Board of Directors, and Melissa Johnson is the Foundation's executive director. Funds raised at the gala will go toward many initiatives, including the Foundation's scholarship programs, which will award over $700,000 in the 2023-24 academic year. Additionally, the Safety Net program will continue to offer crucial short-term aid to students in need.
