Wells

Emerald Communities, a not-for-profit senior housing organization, recently appointed Denis Wells as the new corporate controller. Wells has over 25 years of experience in accounting and comes to Emerald Communities after working as corporate controller at a non-profit hospital in Oklahoma. She earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Cameron University and a CPA certification. As corporate controller, Wells will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting including financial reporting, audits, tax returns, actuarial studies, payroll, and financial analysis. Wells will ensure financial management for Emerald Communities, which encompasses Emerald Heights in Redmond and Heron's Key in Gig Harbor.

Wheelhouse DMG

Seattle-based Wheelhouse DMG, a digital marketing agency specializing in the healthcare and medical device industries, appointed Carissa Vega as director of digital advertising. Vega has nearly 20 years of experience in the digital marketing space. Vega joins Wheelhouse DMG from NewEngen, where she served as the SVP of digital. Prior to NewEngen, Vega spent more than 15 years at Merkle, rising through the ranks to become the VP of performance media, where she managed a large client portfolio, including oversight of more than 100 digital advertising professionals. In her new role, Vega will be responsible for leading Wheelhouse DMG's digital advertising strategies and driving innovation, insuring the delivery of business value to clients.

SanMar

SanMar has been selected as a 2024 US Best Managed company. Exxel Pacific, as part of its long-term leadership strategy and transition plan, announced the recent promotion of four team members moving into vice president roles. Tyson Scheenstra has been promoted to vice president of operations, TJ Mellema to regional vice president of Exxel's Bellingham office, and Todd Williams and Eric Solem have been promoted as co-regional vice presidents of Exxel's Bellevue office.

Kiterocket, a PR-forward communications agency, hired Jessica Fishman as director for its Renewable Energy Practice. Fishman will lead the agency's renewable energy client portfolio. Fishman has 20 years of experience as a strategic marketing leader, including a decade of renewable energy expertise. Prior to joining Kiterocket, she worked at clean energy companies including Conergy and AlsoEnergy where she led marketing and communications departments. Fishman also spent nearly seven years as head of global public and media relations at SolarEdge during a high-growth period, which included three acquisitions and an IPO. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024, Kiterocket focuses on market innovators within the technology, renewable energy, and sustainability sectors. With offices in Phoenix and Seattle, the agency's integrated services span brand strategy, media and influencer relations, digital marketing, social media, events, editorial, design, and content production.

Harris

Ahtna Netiye' appointed Robert Harris as chief operating officer. Harris is an Ahtna shareholder. His career spans various leadership roles, including managing a startup energy services company, and overseeing Municipality of Anchorage departments as chief fiscal officer. Harris has a background in engineering, and previously managed teams at CH2M in the development of electric power generation facilities, and served as president at Controls Engineering. He holds two bachelor's degrees from MIT in economics and electrical engineering, and master's degrees in business administration and electrical engineering from the University of Washington. In his role as COO, Harris will focus be on enhancing operations and ensuring profitable growth in alignment with Ahtna Netiye's corporate values and objectives. Ahtna Netiye' is the business holding company for Ahtna, Inc., an Alaska Native regional corporation, and manages and oversees the business operations of Ahtna's subsidiaries. Roy Tansy, Jr. is the CEO of Ahtna Netiye'.

After nearly 44 years of public service at the Port of Everett, Carolyn Diedrich, assistant controller & records officer, retired on May 1st. Mallory Good, the Port's new assistant controller, has taken on the majority of Diedrich's role. Good's position maintains complex accounts within the Port's financial system and assists the finance director. Diedrich is the longest-tenured employee in Port history, helping manage the Port's finances over the better part of four decades, and earning 26 years of clean financial audits. After taking accounting and payroll classes at Everett Community College, Diedrich was hired as the Port's receptionist/accounts receivable technician in 1980 when she was just 17. Diedrich held many accounting and administrative roles over the years, specializing in accounts payable, HR, payroll, liabilities, assets and records management. She finished her career as the assistant controller, a position she held since 2019. Good joined the Port of Everett in July 2023, bringing 12 years of experience in accounting management and financial systems. Prior to joining the Port, she worked as the accounting manager for Snohomish County and a tax accountant at Kieckhafer, Schiffer & Company. Good is a graduate of Washington State University, having earned her master's degree in accounting with a concentration in taxation and her bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting.

Boise Cascade

Boise Cascade promoted Chris Forrey to vice president, finance and investor relations. Forrey joined Boise Cascade in 2005 and was promoted to his most recent role of senior finance director in March 2022, where he has led the tax, financial reporting, accounts payable, and financial systems teams. He has also been a key contributor to the investor relations and M&A efforts for the company. He earned a master's degree in accountancy/taxation and a bachelor's degree in business administration in accountancy, both from Boise State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant. In his new position, Forrey will lead investor relations activities, as well as maintain oversight of his previous responsibilities.
