The Clearwater Group

The Clearwater Group, a health care management consulting company with offices in Seattle and the Bay Area in California, has appointed Linda Lekness as senior consultant. Lekness brings 17 years of senior health care management experience to the company and specializes in helping both physicians and hospitals succeed in capitated environments. She served as assistant vice president at Pacific Medical Center and director at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.

TCI Advertising Sales

Seattle-headquartered TCI Advertising Sales, providing access to cable networks, has named Kerin Brasch to the new position of regional sales director within the company's structure encompassing Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Previously, Brasch was director of sales/agency at TCI and Viacom-owned Northwest Cable Advertising in Seattle and supervised ad sales for the regional shopping network, TV Mart.

Continental Savings Bank

Cynthia Sonstelie has been elected to the board of directors of Continental Savings Bank, a subsidiary of Continental Inc. operating eight savings bank branches in Western Washington and in Oregon. Sonstelie is vice president of human resources at Simpson Investment Co. and will continue her responsibilities at Simpson Investment. She brings 23 years of experience in personnel and human resources management.

The Bellevue Club Hotel

The Bellevue Club Hotel, an in-city resort opened since February 1995, recently received the Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design Competition, presented in conjunction with the 80th International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show held in New York. The hotel was also selected at the Grand Prize Winner for Lobby/Reception, and one of three finalists in the Guestroom/Suites competition. Sponsored by Hospitality Design and Lodging magazines, the 15th annual competition consisted of 136 entries from around the world, in five categories.

Xerox of the Pacific Northwest

Tukwila-headquartered Xerox of the Pacific Northwest has named Dick Walter senior national account manager. Walter has been with Xerox for 25 years and has held a number of marketing and service management positions throughout the company. Also, Ken Larson was named global account manager for several major accounts including The Boeing Company and Microsoft Corp. Larson joined the company in 1966 as a sales representative and was soon promoted to national account manager for Boeing. He has worked on national and international accounts covering a full range of Xerox products.

Northwest Cable Advertising

The Seattle office of Northwest Cable Advertising (NCA), which provides advertisers access to 14 cable networks, has hired Bruce Kimura as an agency sales representative, and John Landry as a retail sales representatives, and has promoted Jill Thomas to agency sales representative. Before joining NCA, Kimura held a similar position with KCPQ-TV, Channel 13, in Tacoma. Previously, Landry was a retail sales representative for Bay Cable Advertising in San Francisco. And, Thomas was a retail sales representative.

Emerald Downs

Marie Connelly has been named vice president-general manager of Renton-based Emerald Downs, a race track under construction in Auburn where 100 days of racing will be conducted during the inaugural season from June 20 to November 4. Connelly comes off two years of running operations as vice president of Emerald Racing Association and also worked many years at Longacres, serving as controller there from 1983 to 1990. Since 1992, she has managed Wooden Horse Investments Inc., for the group that owns champion race horse and sir Seattle Slew. Other appointments have been announced. They are: Grant Holcomb, director of racing. Holcomb served as racing secretary for Longacres and Emerald Racing since 1990. Don Campbell, director of food and beverage. Campbell began as a bartender in 1964 and has worked in the industry since 1976. Gary Hallett, director of mutuels. Hallett was first employed in racing at Longacres in 1965 and has held a myriad of positions since, most recently operations manager for Emerald Racing for the past three years. And, Bob Myers, director of television services. Myers served for 22 years as chief engineer for Video Patrol in Longacres and Emerald Racing.

Hagen, Kurth, Perman & Co., P.S., a Seattle certified public accounting and business consulting firm, has added Paula Williams as an accounting software specialist. Previously, Williams owned and operated Century Accounting Services in Las Vegas for over 15 years.

Price Waterhouse LLP

The Seattle office of Price Waterhouse has named Richard D. Greaves, audit partner, to succeed Daniel C. Regis as office managing partner, effective July 1, 1996. Greaves joined Price Waterhouse LLP in Seattle in 1974. He developed his career in the company and was admitted to the partnership in 1986. Regis, who retires, has held the Seattle office managing partner position since 1991. From 1979 to 1991, he was office managing partner in the Portland, Ore., office and was also managing partner of the Northwest Group (Seattle, Portland, and Anchorage) from 1988 to 1993.
