Noble House Hotels, Resorts & Hideaways

Chuck Katan has been named vice president of sales and marketing for Noble House Hotels, Resorts & Hideaways. Katan will be responsible for overseeing ongoing efforts and future development of sales and marketing programs on both a corporate and property level. Katan formerly served as vice president of sales at Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts. Noble House Hotels, Resorts & Hideaways, based in Kirkland, owns and operates more than 1,700 hotel rooms throughout the United States, including the Hotel Edgewater in Seattle.

WHaM Communications

WHaM Communications, a Seattle-based marketing public relations firm, has hired Michael Kormanik as vice president. Kormanik will direct the growing consumer products group. Kormanik formerly served as director of integrated marketing communications for Biotec Food Corporation, a wholesale manufacturer of vitamins.

Ford Graphics

Ysmael Pascua J.R. Hufana has been hired as operations manager of Ford Graphics' downtown Seattle reprography center. Hufana will be in charge of coordinating all aspects of productions and customer service at the facility.

Whitman College

Karen Glover has been named to a four-year term on the Whitman College Board of Trustees. Glover is a partner in the Seattle law firm of Preston, Gates & Ellis.

Parker, Smith & Feek, Inc.

Parker, Smith & Feek, Inc., a Seattle-based member of the St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, has elected Steven G. Boone as a shareholder in the corporation and vice president of commercial insurance. Earl P. Fauser has also been named vice president of business and estate planning.

Wizards of the Coast Inc.

Wizards of the Coast Inc., developer and publisher of the trading card game Magic: The Gathering, recently opened its Italian office in Milan. The new office will provide sales, distribution, marketing and organized play support for all of Italy, building on earlier market development efforts by local distributors. The Italian office will run under the supervision of Sergio Simonelli, managing director.

The Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative

The Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative has retained the services of Gary C. Barbour to handle federal and congressional affairs in Washington, D.C. Barbour was formerly director of government affairs for Enron Corp. The Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative is a Portland-based electric power marketing cooperative serving wholesale and retail customers.

Childhaven

Childhaven, a Seattle-based non-profit agency treating abused and neglected children, has received a $300,000 three-year donation from Seatle-based software company WRQ for the development therapies program. The program provides physical, occupational, speech, and cognitive therapy to children who do not qualify for state-subsidized therapy. WRQ, a long-time supporter of Childhaven, has given the agency almost $1 million dollars over the past five years.
