Jerry Lloyd, has been promoted to the new position of director of new business development for Cascade Designs, a Seattle-based manufacturer and marketer of outdoor recreational gear. Lloyd has been with the company since 1981 and will be responsible for evaluating and developing new business opportunities beyond Cascade's current base of products and market groups. Kelly Stone has been promoted to director of sales for the outdoor and bicycle markets. Stone is responsible for managing the sales team, dealer services, consumer services and distribution groups.
Wendy McDowall has been named director of development at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center. McDowall came to Harborview from the Pacific Northwest Ballet where she served as director of development. Prior positions included director of development and planned giving for the National Ballet of Canada and manager of corporate development for the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
Norwest Mortgage has changed its name to Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. All of the company's more than 1,100 locations nationwide are being converted to reflect the new identity. The company chose to adopt the Wells Fargo name following its 1998 merger with Wells Fargo & Co. Based in Des Moines, Iowa, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is a subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Co. It is an originator and servicer of residential mortgages, with a presence in Norwest/Wells Fargo bank locations in all 50 states.
Ecadia, a Bellevue-based business-to-business Internet infrastructure company helping e-commerce sites convert shoppers to buyers, announced it has received a $2 million equity financing commitment from institutional and private investors. The company will use the proceeds to ramp-up staffing, marketing and sales programs, as well as to develop Ecadia’s customized software application, adding buying guide functionality to popular retail Web sites.
Onyx Software Corp., a Bellevue-based provider of customer-centric e-business solutions, announced several promotions and strategic hires. Recent new hires are Mark Lamb, director of investor relations, Cameron Sherwood, director of channel sales, Gene Climer, regional sales vice president, Jill Maguire-Ward, vice president of human resources, Norma McKinney, director of technology alliances and Mark Puckett, director of analyst relations. Michael S. Bittner, an educator and outreach specialist now teaching at the University of Washington, has been appointed executive director of Odyssey, Seattle's central waterfront maritime attraction, as the center shifts its emphasis from start-up operations and fund raising to the development of its educational programs. Bittner takes over from Kathy Scanlan who guided fundraising efforts to establish the center over the past 18 months. Bittner, who specializes in the fields of education, global trade, transportation and logistics will join Odyssey this summer after completing his teaching duties at the University.
The Seattle office of DDB, a communications company with capabilities in advertising, public relations, media, design and direct marketing, announced several new hires. Jacquie Arnatt has joined the company as a management supervisor overseeing much of the agency's digital media business. Michelle Lambert joined the agency's Washington D.C. satellite office as an account supervisor in the Issues & Advocacy group. Hillary Gray joined as a public service planner. Amy MacIver was hired as an assistant account executive.
CaterArts was recently awarded the contract as a preferred caterer for the Experience Music Project. CaterArts was founded in 1996 by Peter Neal. Neal's past culinary experience includes Tulio Restaurant, The Brooklyn, Metropolitan Grill and Nordstrom catering. CaterArts is located in Seattle.
Jeffery Low, Pacifica Bank president and CEO, announced that the bank has exceeded $100 million in assets. Pacifica Bank opened in October of 1998 in Bellevue. Pacifica is a commercial bank providing full services to small and medium size businesses with an emphasis on international trade finance.
Pierce Transit has won the Preserve Planet Earth Award from the Downtown Tacoma Rotary Club 8. The award was presented in recognition of Pierce Transit's longstanding commitment to using alternative fuel to power its buses. Pierce Transit was the first transit agency in the nation to use non-polluting compressed natural gas instead of diesel fuel. Today it operates a fleet of 117 compressed natural gas buses out of a total fleet of 206 buses
