Vixel Corp.

Vixel Corp., a Bothell-based provider of switches, hubs, transceivers and management software that delivers connectivity solutions for storage networks, announced the appointment of two executives to fuel the product development and manufacturing operations of the company. Thomas Hughes is the new vice president, product development and Kelsey Britz was promoted to vice president, operations.

Lindal Cedar Homes

Lindal Cedar Homes, a Seattle-based manufacturer of custom-design cedar homes and sunrooms, announced Douglas F. Lindal will retire as president on July 3. Chairman and CEO Robert W. Lindal will re-assume the duties of president following his brother's retirement. Robert Lindal previously served as Lindal Cedar Homes president from 1981 to 1995, when Doug Lindal was named president and chief operating officer. Doug Lindal will continue to serve on the company's board of directors and expects to provide consulting services for sales and marketing.

Digital Harmony

Digital Harmony, a Seattle-based developer of networkable digital media technologies, appointed John Celms, former president and CEO of Seattle Silicon and Jim Tweten, president and CEO of Magnolia Hi-Fi, to the company's executive board.

Oralis.com

Oralis.com, a Seattle-based provider of eCommerce solutions for the oral healthcare industry, has acquired WorkWise Software, a Seattle-based company that is a supplier of mid-market application integration software. On May 5, Oralis.com acquired HPC Innovations of Wilmington, Del., a dental supply purchasing service used by thousands of dentists nationwide. With the two acquisitions, Oralis.com broadened its customer base and increased the speed at which dentists and their suppliers can communicate through its Web site.

WestCoast Hotel

Kevin Wojcik has recently been appointed by WestCoast Hotels as general manager of the WestCoast Silverdale Hotel in Silverdale. Wojcik moves from WestCoast Wenatchee Center Hotel, where he managed the food services operations for the convention facility and hotel.

Deloitte & Touche announced that Laird Post has joined the firm's Seattle office as a principal in its human capital advisory services, serving as a practice leader for the Pacific Northwest Region. With more than 25 years of experience, Post has consulted with clients in all aspects of human resource programs, including employer-of-choice strategy, benefits strategy, total rewards, managed care development, carrier negotiations and selection, mergers and acquisitions, and executive benefits.

Good Guys

Goodguys.com, the Portland-based e-commerce company recently formed by Good Guys and a group of private investors, announced that Marcus Nucci has been named chief information officer. Nucci, formerly senior vice president of technology and acting CIO for Value America, will be responsible for managing the development and deployment of the company's e-commerce retail site and will serve as interim CEO as the company continues its nationwide search.

Nimble Technology

Nimble Technology, a Seattle-based technology company providing a next generation data integration platform, announced that Microsoft veteran Franklin Fite, Jr. has joined the company as its chief technology officer. Fite was the general manager of the Windows CE Platform team at Microsoft. Fite will oversee the development of Nimble's data integration product suite.

Onvia.com

After two and a half years with the Clinton-Gore Administration, Andrew Munro is taking a new position in the private sector as director of business affiliations at Onvia.com, a Seattle-based business-to-business e-marketplace for small business buyers and sellers. Munro will work closely with local small business owners and organizations, as well as federal and state government officials.

Starbucks

Starbucks Coffee France EURL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Starbucks Coffee International, and Dareen International Co., an affiliate company of M.H. Alshaya Co., celebrated the grand opening of the first Starbucks retail store in Dubai. Another six stores are scheduled to open within this year. Dubai represents the third country in the Middle East that Starbucks has entered.

The Seattle Home Show

Amy Daniel, the Seattle Home Show's most recent hire, is spearheading sales of the company's Internet site. The Seattle Home Show, producer of spring and fall home shows in the Stadium Exhibition Center, operates the Web site which includes a wide variety of home related products and services.
