Network 9

Seattle-based Web design firm Network 9 has launched, in collaboration with the sportswear retailer, Cutter & Buck's e-commerce Web site.

The site, located at http://cutterbuck.com, features Cutter & Buck's "upscale sports clothing" for both men and women. According to Network 9, the site has a number of features to improve navigation between various pages.

Cutter & Buck is based in Seattle and has about 10 retail stores in the U.S. Its clothing is also sold via 4,000 golf pro shops and in department stores.

Network 9, founded by former Starwave employees, designs and builds e-commerce Web sites. Other clients include TeraBeam and Microsoft.

Longview Fibre Company

George Manavian has been promoted to marketing manager for specialty papers at Longview Fibre Company.

A 15-year veteran of Longview, Manavian's new responsibilities include working on the development of new specialty paper products, coordinating with sales staff on specialty paper products in the field and marketing Longview's specialty products.

Most recently, Manavian has been focused on the sales of handle shopping bags and merchandise bags to distributors in the Northwest, Southwest and Utah.

Longview Fibre, based in Longview, Wash., is an integrated forest products company, owning tree farms, a paper and pulp mill and 15 converting plants.

Caliber Inspection

Caliber Inspection, provider of non-destructive testing services such as x-ray and gamma radiography, has acquired Bellevue-based Pacific Technical Industries.

Pacific Technical provides industrial radiography services nationwide. The company and its management and employees will now operate as a division of Caliber.

Privately-held Caliber Inspection is based in Seattle and employs over 25 certified inspectors. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

EverTrust Financial

John Davies has been named president of I-Pro, a subsidiary of Everett-based EverTrust Financial Group.

As president of I-Pro, which provides item processing and statement rendering services, Davies will be responsible for marketing the firm's services to new financial institutional clients and developing new products.

Previously, Davies, with 11 years of financial services experience, was district sales manager for Dynex Financial, which specializes in financing manufactured housing nationwide.

In addition to I-Pro, EverTrust Financial's other holdings include the Everett Mutual Bank, the Commercial Bank of Everett and Mutual Bancshares Capital. Total assets are approximately $600 million.

Lane Powell Spears Lubersky LLP

Minaksi Bhatt has been elected partner at the law firm of Lane Powell Spears Lubersky. She specializes in intellectual property and antitrust litigation.

Bhatt, who received her law degree from The George Washington University, joined Lane Powell last year from the Washington, D.C. office of Rothwell, Figg, Ernst & Kurz. Prior to that she was a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

In addition to its Seattle office, Lane Powell has other locations in Olympia, Portland, Anchorage, Mount Vernon and London, England.

KCTS

Michael Delcamp has been appointed to National Marketing Director for public television station KCTS.

In his new role, Delcamp will be responsible for securing corporate underwriting and forging business partnerships to better develop, finance and distribute KCTS productions.

Delcamp joined KCTS in 1995 as an account manager in the corporate marketing department.

Karr Tuttle Campbell

Jill Yen has joined the Seattle office of Karr Tuttle Campbell as an associate.

Yen is a 2000 graduate of the University of Washington School of Law. She will practice in the firm's corporate finance practice group.

Bennett Cos.

Paul Glosniak was promoted from vice president to president at Bellevue-based Bennett Homes. Glosniak replaced company owner Todd Bennett, who remains CEO of parent company Bennett Cos. Bennett said he wants to focus more time on the expanding Bennett Cos., which also operates the home design and development company First Edition Homes, Bennett Development, and property management company Bennett Properties. Bennett Homes started in 1981. It builds 40 to 50 homes each year on the Eastside that sell for between $300,000 and $500,000, and sometimes more. Glosniak has worked seven years at Bennett Homes, most recently as vice president for architecture.

Also, Steve Homiack has become executive director of Heritage Lodge at Totem Lake, an 86-unit apartment project for seniors that Bennett Cos. has under development in Kirkland. Homiack also took the title of president of Heritage Senior Living LLC, a Bennett subsidiary that develops senior communities. Before joining Bennett, Homiack was general manager for a 147-unit, upscale retirement community, Bennett said.

Security Properties

Tom Curran's Seattle-based Security Properties received a hefty $41 million from the state of California for 68 acres near Los Angeles that the state wants to preserve as park land.

Security said the state bought the undeveloped property "through the assistance of the American Land Conservancy and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy."

The Vista Pacifica property, also called The Hill, stretches from sea level to the highest point in the Los Angeles Valley. It's located between L.A. and Culver City.

"It provides sweeping views of downtown L.A., Catalina, the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Security said. "Originally part of the Spanish land grant, Security Properties over the past 12 years consolidated property in the area and was preparing to build housing on the site with its partner, John Laing Homes.

Of the $41 million, $32.5 million came from a state park bond, $4.5 million from the state general fund and $5.1 million from L.A. County Parks.

Security started in 1969. During the 1980s it bought more than 60 apartment projects out of developers' bankruptcy proceedings then went heavily into syndicating. The company now controls 29,000 apartment units in 38 states. A current project is developing the 264-unit Paulsbo place in downtown Poulsbo.
