Singingfish.com, a Seattle-based developer of streaming media search services for the Internet, entertainment and digital convergence industries, fully owned by Thomson multimedia, has named Karen Howe vice president of marketing. Howe will be responsible for all marketing initiatives, including strategic integration with Thomson Multimedia's new business-to-business segment, called Digital Media Solutions.

Immunex Corp., a Seattle-based biopharmaceutical company, announced that the company's board of directors has elected Robert Herbold to serve on its board. Herbold recently retired from Microsoft Corp. as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He was responsible for the worldwide operation at Microsoft, including finance, manufacturing and human resources.
Badgley, Phelps and Bell, an investment management firm with offices in Seattle and Portland, announced the appointment of Ross Ohashi as investment counselor. Ohashi will be responsible for managing portfolios for the company's private capital clients. He will also serve on the company's research team

Moss Adams, a Seattle-based CPA firm, announced the hiring of Cheryl Storey as a senior manager in the health care division of its consulting group. Storey has expertise in the areas of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues, preparation of exception requests for psychiatric and rehabilitation units and licensure and certification assistance.
The Washington Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates announced that it has elected Ron Perey as its president for the year 2001. The executive board for 2001 also includes Ronald Leighton, president-elect; Cheryl Robbins Berg, vice president; Thomas Fain, treasurer; and Reed Schifferman, secretary. The board also presented its "Courageous Lawyer Award" to Morris Dees, chief trial counsel of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., at its annual awards dinner held March 2.

First & Goal, a company founded in 1997 by Paul Allen to manage the development, construction and operation of the Washington State Football/Soccer Stadium and Exhibition Center, announced that Jeffrey Klein, former director of stadium operations for the Seattle Mariners (1981–1991), has been named vice president/facility general manager for the new Washington State Football/Soccer Stadium and Exhibition Center (SEC). In his new position, Klein’s responsibilities include budget creation and management, organization, special events, and supervision of Stadium and SEC operational staff. Klein will also serve as liaison between the Seattle Seahawks and the National Football League.
Carter & Burgess, a consulting firm, announced the addition of Brad Stein as an associate. Stein serves as a vice president and transportation unit manager for the firm's Seattle office. He has more than 24 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of various transportation projects in the Northwest.
