Northwestern Trust and Investors Advisory Co., a Seattle-based wealth management firm, announced that Owen McKannay, Michelle Rubesch and Marie Remedios Booker have recently joined the firm. McKannay has been named vice president, business development. He has 25 years of business and sales experience and most recently served as an investment broker for A.G. Edwards and Sons. Rubesch is vice president, senior portfolio manager. She is responsible for investment management of stock, bond and balanced portfolios for private clients, non-profit organizations and corporations. Booker is vice president, business development. She has 14 years of business development experience and most recently served as director of client development for Prudential Insurance Co.

CapitalStream

CapitalStream, a Seattle-based provider of Web infrastructure, announced the promotion of Alan Fuhrman to senior vice president and chief financial officer. Fuhrman's promotion follows his efforts in helping CapitalStream close two rounds of equity financing, including a $20 million round in March. His prior experience as a CFO includes 10 years of developing high-growth technology companies prior to joining CapitalStream, including Neopath and Innovation.

Columbia River Maritime Museum

The Columbia River Maritime Museum announced the addition of Crindalyn Stevens to the staff. Stevens will be director of marketing and public relations. Located in Astoria, Ore., the Columbia museum displays one of the most extensive collections of nautical artifacts on the West Coast.

Open Telecommunications

Open Telecommunications, a global telecommunications company backed by Cisco, announced the appointment of Colin Chandler to the position of CEO for the North America office headquartered in Seattle. Colin has more than 20 years of international experience in the telecommunications industry and steps in as CEO after serving as chief operating officer for the company's North America operations.

Giles

The law firm of Perkins Coie, which has 14 offices around the world including Seattle, Bellevue, Olympia and Spokane, has been authorized to open a law office in Beijing. Perkins Coie's managing partner, Robert Giles, received the certificate from the Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of China in Beijing on April 12. Perkins Coie is one of 11 global law firms, including five from the United States, receiving licenses this year. The managing partner for the firm's Beijing office will be Jon Eichelberger, a partner in the firm's China practice group who is relocating from the firm's Hong Kong office.

Flexcar

Flexcar, a Seattle-based company that offers shared access to vehicles, has acquired its Portland counterpart, CarSharing Portland. Flexcar is the first car-sharing company to expand to a second city. The Portland acquisition is the first in a series of expansions planned nationwide for the company. The acquisition brings the total number of cars to 65, with more than 1,800 members in Portland and Seattle. The expanded Flexcar service will give members access to vehicles in both cities.

University Village

Burrito Loco, a local, family-operated Mexican restaurant, recently opened in Seattle's University Village shopping center. It is the restaurant's second location. Owners Anabel Sahagun and Maria Meza opened the new store, positioned between The Confectionery and Andrew's Hallmark in the southwest corner of the shopping center, on April 21
