Columbia Bank promoted John Manolides and Vicki Powers to senior vice presidents and commercial loan officers. Manolides worked with Puget Sound Bank and has more than 17 years of banking experience. Powers has 31 years of banking experience and is a graduate of the University of Washington.
New Edge Networks, a provider of networks and Internet access, named Mark Nicklas as vice president of sales for vertical markets. Nicklas will develop sales strategy and is based in Vancouver. Nicklas held business and sales development positions with start-up communications companies, including Tyco Telecommunications, Integra Telecom, MCI and AT&T.
Sothbury, Conn.-based business consultant network Entrepreneur's Source has a new office in Redmond. Owner Dennis Larsen, a longtime resident of Redmond, worked as a medical products executive for 30 years and now intends to help local entrepreneurs. Entrepreneur's Source works with individuals and companies considering franchising as a career alternative or as a means of expansion.
Northwest Harvest is looking for volunteer groups to host food drives. Groups will be linked with grocery stores and provided with materials to collect donations on April 24 and 25. More than 50 grocery stores participated in the event last year, and collected items will be provided to 300 food banks and hot meal programs throughout Washington state, 80 of which are in King County. Corus Pharma, a Seattle-based pharmaceutical development company, has appointed Richard B. Brewer to its board of directors. Brewer is a founding partner of Crest Asset Management, where he works with healthcare and biotech companies. He most recently spent five years as president of Scios, which developed Natrecor(R) (nesiritide), a treatment for acute heart failure.
Tony E. Bubenas joined Pierce County Parks and Recreation Department as golf supervisor. He manages the county's Lake Spanaway and Fort Steilacoom golf courses and maintenance staff. Bubenas worked at Eugene Country Club and Emerald Valley Golf Course in Oregon. He replaces Andrew Soden, who has accepted a similar role with the city of Seattle.
Choice Linens and Chair Covers has just opened a new showroom at 312 West Republican in Seattle. Klaudia Keller has owned and operated Choice for more than 12 years. Showroom hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and by appointment on Saturday.

Roundtable for the Arts has changed its name to Arts United. The new name came out of focus groups and interviews as part of a marketing refreshment program. The Snohomish County-based group provides funding for arts organizations and incentive funding for new groups. For information call (425) 353-5613.
Drugstore.com, an online retailer of health and beauty products, named Bud Albers chief technology officer. He will plan the company's future technology direction and expand the Web site. Albers was senior vice president and chief technology officer of Getty Images. He served in senior positions at NxTrend Technologies.
Seattle Goodwill named Barbara Nabors-Glass vice president of programs. Nabors-Glass has worked with the Seattle Housing Authority and also as an independent consultant. Seattle Goodwill gives employment training and basic education to people with barriers to economic opportunity.
Michael Gaberman of Northwest Business Bank joined the board of directors for the Seattle Architectural Foundation. Northwest is Seattle-based and is the sole subsidiary of NWB Financial Corp., a bank holding company.
Dr. Kathy Burgoyne joined Seattle-based Comprehensive Health Education Foundation as research and evaluation manager. CHEF prepares youth programs on obesity, and abuse and violence prevention. Burgoyne has worked in the prevention field for 20 years. Jeff Hendricks is now director of product development. He was the curriculum content designer at SRA Technologies, a publisher of online programs. Rob Levy joined as lead curriculum developer and came from National Health Promotion Associates. Tricia Bekey was recently hired as a writer and editor.
Northwest Public Radio, a broadcast service of Washington State University, has hired Patricia Heasler and Brian Stephenson as account executives. Heasler will be based in Richland and Stephenson in Yakima. Northwest Public Radio is a 13-station network licensed to WSU. It serves communities in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and British Columbia.
The World Trade Club is taking applications for the Governor's Trader of the Year and the Governor's Emerging Trader of the Year awards. A selection committee of leaders in international business will review applications and select winners in mid-May.
